I know Korean > Chinese, and German > Korean, at least when it comes to Microfiber Madness. I noticed Chemical Guys has some newer towels that they list as made in America. I'm all for supporting anything made here, but I'm wondering how they measure up to Koreans. I was unaware that any where even made here until I saw them for sale yesterday.

Often the MF-material is woven elsewhere (ex: China)
but the finished product is cut and sewn in the USA.

Don't know if that's the case, or not, regarding the
MF-towels that CGs is advertising as being US made.

Which one is supposed to be made in USA? That's certainly news--the only other towel that claimed that was the Zaino that had that convoluted weasel-wording as Bob noted above, where apparently the cloth was made elsewhere but some amount of work was done here so they could say "made in US".

FUNX640 - That makes sense, I could see a company like CG using word trickery here lol. I love some of their products, but their marketing is highly questionable at times.

Sectec Astronomy - they're the Happy Ending towels, ts a video on YT for them with Greg clearly saying they're made in the US. I'd be interested to find out the truth. I would post a Q&A on CG's web site but I suspect I might get some vague answer that's not 100% accurate. And saw this on the product Q&A on their web site

what is the gram per square meter? is it made in china or korea?

Made in the USA

If they're not BS'ing that's interesting, gotta love how they never seem to want to tell us the GSM of their towels lol.

Bob

Just looked at the CG website and there is no mention of the manufacturing origin of the towels I looked at. A search of the site for "Microfiber USA" also came up empty

On Amazon the country of origin is indicated as USA, but I think that is just where they would be shipping from

The Germans make the best MF I have tried...Microfiber Madness- Dry Me Crazy in particular

I thought the MF Madness towels use Korean MF made to German specs, then cut / sewn in Germany?

To quote them:
Made in the USA* of American and imported raw materials
Developed, processed, inspected, and packaged in the USA
Country of Origin: United States of America
*Complies with FTC regulations

They are really pushing the limits. What it should say is"assembled in the USA" of blah blah blah.

Sounds like they install the adhesive tags and carefully position each MF inside its packaging, here in the USA

I am beginning to think that they are all Korean or Chinese:

From Microfiber Madness website:

"2013 we set another milestone with our microfiber washmitt, which was created AND produced in Germany! "Made in Germany" will play a prominent role in our product range in the future. Stay tuned for our upcoming innovations!"

Sounds like maybe all of the manufacturers/repackagers are massaging the verbiage a bit

It was my understanding that whichever country incurred the largest expense in the manufacturing process could be listed as the "made in" country. I'm not saying that is fact today. I know years ago that was the rule.
