Its a product B& B recommended and I'm thinking about getting some. I need a good aluminum/ Metal polish.

Anyone ever use it?

Can it be used on all metals?

Yes and no - if I am not mistaken chrome is much softer than aluminum. With that said I can use the NuVite S grade to polish chrome, but any other grade is to aggressive IMO. Nuvite C grade I use for many purposes including :

scratch removal (equivalent to wetsanding with 1500 IMO and experience)
Aluminum polish obviously (Bus rims, aircraft leading edges, etc.)
Headlight restoration - again similar to wetsanding IMO.

I love this stuff. Granted it is very expensive since it is marketed as an aviation product.

I remember that truck lol ....crazy you tried it on paint Haha

If I feel that a product can work for another purpose I will try it on one of my personal vehicles before a client's. With that said, I always think outside the box - the NuVite C grade is grittier than 3M super duty - after using compound with sand paper to restore headlights, I thought hmmm Nuvite C Grade is the same thing - so I tested it and wala. Staying inside the box can get very expensive and time consuming IMO.

Nuvite is killer on polished aluminum. I polished out a Navion with it. The entire plane was bare aluminum. I never want to do it again but it worked beautifully.

Never have polished out a fully polished aluminum aircraft - always wanted to though! Alot of work for sure I bet! Did you use the cyclo and the large cloth to finish polish with S grade?!?!? My next project (hopefully winter time) is to purchase a run down airstream and completely restore it - and flip it. We'll see how that goes?!?!?

+1
I truly enjoy polishing large aluminum pieces- by hand or machine. Always fascinated by the luster emerging from the blackness.

I may be wrong - but I will research this tomorrow, I don't think that the Airstream is made from aircraft aluminum, like body and sleeper panels of older Petes, I beleive that some older models have a coating that will burn through. Like I said, I'll research this tomorrow. Have a great week B&B...happy detailing...

Yeah I believe they have a coating that must be stripped before compounding - seen a few videos on them. One video I saw they did use NuVite and produced a beautiful turn around! Either way I plan on doing a big video of the project and hopefully having fun in the process?!?!?!

That would be way cool!
Cyclo and NuVite? Spiral sewn or flannel and greaseless?

Cyclo and Nuvite - that is what I always used on britework with aircraft - cut with rotary and wool, then bust the cyclo and large cloth doohickies out for the last few steps - flawless britework is obtained :dblthumb2:. Not sure what spiral sewn, flannel, and greaseless means?!?!?!

Wheels that I spin on the 849 and greaseless compound bars as a polish.
Past my bedtime see ya tomorrow.
Like the farmer said to the spud potato- 'plant ya now and dig u later'
We're gone 10-07...roger.

Ah lol - Last time I used a rouge bar my dumb*&^ slung the brick into my shin :/ - Luckily I've got tough shins from Muay Thai - or else that would have been devastating I think! Have a good nights sleep man - laters....
