Hello,
Purchasing a new SUV and wanting to protect the carpets. Wanting to use something that had low VOC. have researched Microseal and was wondering if anyone has used this. There is a local cleaning company that applies it. Here is some info about it.

1. Permanent Stain Resistance - Will survive many professional cleanings
2. Permanent Sun Fade Resistance - Near 100% on many fabrics and carpets
3. Permanent Wear Resistance - See Independent Lab Tests Page
4. Seals All Fabrics/Carpets - Wools, cottons, silk, synthetics, suedes, smooth leather
5. Penetrates / Seals Fibers Only - Won't seal in dirt or stains
6. Static and Mildew Resistance
7. Flame/Smoke Spread Reduction – Approximately 13% & 25%
8. Nanotechnology - won't change texture or color
9. Eco Friendly & CA VOC compliant - No Fluorochemicals or PTFE Resin (non-stick)
10. Independent Laboratory and Aerospace Reports verify all performance claims

Here is link: MicroSeal Permanent Fabric & Carpet Protection

Seems like a nice product, has been researched and used in airliners, seems to last a very long time, and is non-toxic.

Would love to get some info from the experts here. Thanks.

Sounds legit. Wish I knew something about it

Anyone????

I've never heard about it before you brought it up. It's kind of normal for there to be at least a tiny bit of suspicion when a brand new member joins and in their first post they include a link to a product not sold on the Autogeek.net store and in the post include all the marketing information for the product.

It looks like shilling or at least product promotion.

I've been working in the forum world since the vBulletin discussion software was invented, (2000), and went commercial in 2002 and I always give people the benefit of the doubt as it's the right thing to do.

So "no" I've never heard of this product before but I am looking forward to your future posts.

You say you are buying a new SUV?

Purchasing a new SUV and wanting to protect the carpets.

What make and models are you looking at?

Besides protecting the carpets I'd also recommend protecting the paint, plastic, trim, wheels and tires of your new SUV as they are constantly exposed to the outdoor elements while the carpets are only exposed to whatever people introduce to the interior.

Seems legit to me, but I wanted to get some opinions cause its seems like a great product but why is no one using it. Should last a very long time (5+ years at least) low VOC, thoroughly tested. Price to do my large SUV is $80. I just don't like being an early adopter.

Again, I've never heard of this product but for $80.00 since you seem impressed with it I'd say take one for the team and have it applied.

We do offer a number of similar coatings for carpet and upholstery on the AG store.

I am buying 2015 Yukon Denali. I spent all weekend on here researching products, understand the suspicion but I promise I am not promoting product. To protect rest of vehicle yesterday I ordered Foam Master 1, DG 902, Griot's microfiber mitts, 2 blackfire buckets with guards, toro leaf blower, vac n blo, ww MF, tuf shine, and safe scrub sponge. Hope that proves I am not some marketing guy.

I just don't like breathing in a lot of chemicals which is why when I detail interior I only use MF and water for the most part. Picking up car next week and want to protect carpet and was hoping someone would have heard of this product.

And the above is exactly why I give everyone the benefit of the doubt. Been doing this too long to make a mistake but I hope you can see how a "first post" like the one you made can look suspicion especially considering what people on this forum don't always see and that's how many spammers try to get accounts on this forum every day.

Makes good sense as your health is number #1.

I've never heard of this product but maybe others have. Discussion forums are not always as spontaneous as everyone wishes even though ours is very good and very busy.

If no one on this forum has heard of this product it could be a sign it's not a relevant in this industry or it's new, or .... who know...

Just to note, one of the Mods will probably come along and remove the link.

Congratulations on the new SUV, I had one once and loved it. Also welcome to the AGO forum, I hope you get enough information to make the right decision.

One thing I try when researching something I'm interested in buying is I go to Google and type in the name of the product and then add a few extra words to pull up the info I'm looking for, like,

Microseal Carpet Sealant reviews

Microseal Carpet Sealant problems

Microseal Carpet Sealant versus

Microseal Carpet Sealant warranty

Microseal Carpet Sealant problems

Microseal Carpet Sealant rip off

The above should dig up something for you and if it doesn't that can either be a good sign or a bad sign.

Hope that helps and you'll love the foam gun and the TUF Shine, I know I do...

:)

Mike,
Thanks, understand it looked suspicious but that is proof of how helpful the forum was. I have been able to figure out all of the products I needed from the forum without having to ask questions.

Health is definitely #1. I have googled it like crazy for car applications with no luck. Place in Tennessee here that applies it is a carpet store and they said they have heard of other parts of the country applying it to high end cars but since the guy is fairly new to the product he didn't have a ton of info about applying it to cars other than it has been done.

I hear and read the above all the time and that's a sign of a strong forum.

Just answered your PM and here's a repeat, if you call in the next hour I'll be at my desk, after that it will be hit or miss the rest of the day and then I'm going to be out of the office for a few days.

Welcome to the forum ajeagle6921!

It's interesting you brought up this product as I was actually researching it not too long ago and couldn't find much info pertaining to the automotive industry. I have contacted a "local rep" here yesterday and was told to call them back in about 3 weeks as there might be a product for the consumer to purchase. Waiting for another rep to call me back to acquire more info. I, like you, am curious with all the benefits and am trying to see how I can test this out for myself before trying to incorporate it into my business. The reviews I've found seem very promising but only for commercial and in-home applications. I will pm you with my findings if you like.

Although I do not use the products Mike has mentioned (many others from AGO and elsewhere), I have read many good reviews including Mike's on them. As much as I would like to try them, the products I currently have are working well and am happy to stay with most of them for now. (Still like to see what the latest advancements are out there hence why I frequent this forum!)

I too am contacting a local distributor in Annapolis. I'm always a sucker for the "too good to he true" product.
