Their product line up for windows looks pretty interesting. I have a question though, they recommend "Polish using the Nanoskin Autoscrub System" I currently don't own any of their pads, I will be getting them in the future but for now I'm not. I'm curious if this more a suggestion just to get you to buy more of their products? If I used it without any sort of polisher would it give me good results? And 1 more question, in the pic of 16 oz bottle it looks clear, but in the pic of the gallon jug it looks clearly blue. Are these pics accurate? And if so, is there any difference besides the color?

And anyone who's used the 3 products together care to comment? I can't find any reviews on teh Googles.

The prep is clear and the sealant is blue. You can find better longer lasting glass cleaners and sealants, Gtechniq being one. On the other hand, their nano scrub clay towels are very good.

G1 is a lot better, but it's also way way more $$$. I detail in So Cal so rain is almost nonexistent, and we don't have snow or salt. A products properties for keeping liquid off a window is towards the bottom of my list. G1 comes in a 100ml bottle where you can do like a dozen cars. These come in a 1 gallon for the same price where I could probably do hundreds of cars. I thought perhaps these 3 Nanoskin products together would be a nice step up from a single product like Invisible Glass.

Have you looked into G5?

I currently have the Rain 'system' going on both my cars, in kind of a comparison test with other 'popular' products.

These two:

Nanoskin Rain Prep Glass Activator & Cleaner

and

Nanoskin Rain Glass Sealant

not:

Nanoskin Rain Plus Hydrophobic Glass Treatment System

Some notes:

I did not use the autoscrub system for my glass, as it did not warrant the use of the autoscrub products.

they are great products for overall contaminate removal, however.

the activator product smells horrible. open at own risk haha...

Mix activator 1 part product to 7 parts DI water for an OK cleaner. I say OK because similar results have been obtained via traditional otc cleaners.

Now, I'm not sure of the 'activating' aspect of the 'activator', but it does get the glass clean.

I will have to do a 50/50 of 'activated' rain vs non 'activated' rain.

Rain goes on very nice, and will spread and buff very well. I've had no issues with hazing or fogginess or visibility issues after application.

As far as water removal, IMHO, there are better products for less money. It does not work any better than certain disputed OTC products. But the application of Rain vs the disputed OTC product in a yellow bottle may be a reason to try it.

All in all the combination of the two has not blown me away.

I'm looking to try the Rain+ two part system in the near future.

The Nanoskin glass product is crap, i tried it a year ago.
I called them about my concern with the products not performing like it is advertised.
They said they will send me some of their other product to try out to make up for the rain prep & sealant not performing.

Well, waited a week , 2 , months , now years.
Never received anything from them.

Horrible customer service i tell ya

I'll do some more testing, but since I got it from you I'll take your experience into account.

Wow, well reading the other messages I guess I'll be skipping their line up here and look elsewhere. Maybe the yellow bottle stuff or Invisible Glass are as good as I'll get without breaking the bank.

I am not sure if i apply it wrong, but i don't think there is a incorrect way of applying it.

I did tried it on 2 or 3 vehicles, before giving up. Didn't see any improvements on the windshield.
*Well currently I use Opt Glass coating, my DD is going good. While the 2 other test subject.... not so good.*

Idk what the problem is lol, it could be just me.

However the Nanoskin glass product is CHEAP enough for ANYONE to try. Really.... the rain prep could possibly be a good glass cleaner, i bought it because it seem like a essential product for RAIN. It really smelled bad.... so i rather find something else to use for my glass cleaning need.

Glass Science Auto Glass Cleaners and Repellents, Glass Sealants, Glass Cleaner, protect glass, Rainx, seal glass, protect windshield, rain clear,

I have and still use the first generation of the products above from glass science. They originally developed Rain X, and I grabbed these products when they were first introduced.

The main event

Glass Science Rain Clear Windshield Repellant Gel, glass sealant, glass protectant, windshield sealer, RainX

is a gel product rather than a thin liquid like rain x. It is easier to apply and see where the product was applied. It doesnt take much.

The glass scrub is a mild cleaner/polish for glass that won't correct scratches but will help pull gunk out of the pores of the glass and scub away old rain repellant that has started to lose its luster.

It is not a glass correcting polish like Ceriglass.

The 2 in 1 glass cleaner is so-so as a cleaner for bad grime, but works well with the system if you've already applied Rain Clear.

Fog clear is ok as well. Not breakthrough revolutionary, but it will help delay a film forming on the inside of windows.

If you're looking for something different, I'd recommend glass science.

Glass Science Clear Windshield Kit, Fog Clear, Rain Clear, Glass Sealant, Glass Scrub, glass cleaning kit, clean windshield

Doubtful that you applied it wrong. It's not complicated. I just don't know yet how much stock I'd place in the 'activator' being the key to the Rain effectiveness.

More testing to follow.

I ended up buying Auto Finesse Crystal Glass since it has some good reviews and is BOGO, now I'll look for something for water spots. Glad I didn't drop the $$$ on the Nanoskin stuff, sounds like it would have been mostly a waste.

Crystal glass is just a cleaner. I use it and do like it but how do you put it in the same category? I just applied PBL glass coating today I know it's expensive but seems like you could get quite a few applications out of it.

Good question. I think the OP was looking for rain repellant that wasn't a coating, but not sure how Crystal fits as an answer to the first post....?

I wasn't looking for a rain repellent, I think I came across confusing in my OP. I wanted something that would protect the windows, but I don't need fancy 6 month water beading since it never rains here. Looking around I figured out what I wanted was a good glass cleaner, with something else for spot removal + a sealant. G1 & G5 obviously are great, but you get tiny bottles for the price. It's definitely worth it for people who live where it rains.

I ended up buying the Auto Finesse stuff because there's probably not an AIO product that will do what I want that isn't expensive. So I got the AF, Carpro Spot Remover and Pinnacle GlassCoat Window Sealant with Rain Repellent. Seems like a happy medium for a lot less money.

No worries mate. If that's the case then the AF cleaner is a good one, and on BOGO it makes sense to pick it up.

:dblthumb2:

Regardless if your area rains or not, i'd still prefer a coating on the windshield and windows.
At times i get some bird bomb or whatever on my windshield and using the windshield fluid and wipers, it completely wipes clean and doesn't leave any streaking.

A little late to the thread, but thought I would give my experience with the two products.

I have used the rain prep and the sealant on several vehicles. The best part about them is the ease of use. The sealant is so easy to wipe clear. It is way easier than a product like rainx. Even if the sealant didn't last as long as other products, it is quick to refresh after washing the car.

I have actually experienced very good durability on my personal cars. Before applying the sealant I either clay the windows or use an autoscrub pad to decontaminate them. I applied it to the entire glass roof, side windows, and rear window of my Sonata back in November. They still exhibit excellent beading to this day. I had previously applied it to my windshield and the windshield on our Ford edge, and saw good durability on those with good water shedding. Not on par with a coating of course, but once again it is easy to reapply the sealant every month or two if desired.

On the other hand, I experienced terrible durability on the windshield of my work vehicle. I did not decontaminate the windshield before applying the rain prep and the sealant, and within a week or two I could not see any lasting effect of the sealant. As this vehicle is always parked outside and is not washed often, I assume that the windshield has a layer of grime/film on it that is not removed by standard glass cleaners. I believe the sealant did not properly bond to the glass, and this greatly diminished the durability of the sealant.

As with most other products, it seems that the better you prep the glass surface the better result and durability you will see.

Good info and some great pints. Thanks!
