I have read a bunch in these forums on applicators etc.
I use a waffle cloth to dry the vehicle and sometimes use my leaf blower to dry it quicker.
microfiber cloths to use to apply and dry conditioners on seats, interior trim, exterior trim.
I use the foam tire applicators for tire gels etc. I was wondering if there is something better since the foam gets nasty after a while and not sure if they can be cleaned to reuse.
microfiber wax applicator pads to apply wax and cheesecloth to remove wax.
What cloths do you recommend? What do you use to clean the cloths etc to reuse?

The applicator pads I use for the exterior(wax, sealant, dressings) are foam for the reason they seem to spread product better, and release extra product when really need, and since this applicator pads are usually cheap ones I will just soak them in apc for 15 or 20 mins then use a dish soap and work the dirt out then rinse till water is clean, then roll them in a microfiber towel lastly set them to dry , as for interior I will use a microfiber or foam to apply the dressings though when I comes to leather I will either apply it with a microfiber applicator or if the leather needs a massage then apply it by hand working every part of leather as much as possible....hope this helps a bit

I like foam for applying waxes.

Check out the Carrand brushes for applying tire gels. I've got half a dozen different styles, textures, shapes of foam applicators from years back just sitting these days, (since I bought the Carrand brushes). :)

Wax application, soft foam applicator, black or even red. You can get the 4" LC pads and try them, either by hand or on a machine. (If you like small applicators that is.) :dunno: I don't do much pure "wax" the last few years, but I'll still use foam, (and usually by machine with a 5½" pad) when I do.

If you're looking for a great variety of waffle weave, dual-nap, super plush, even a very nice Korean 500 edgeless towel(s), (although they only call it a 470) give a call to Ian or Dan at Microfiber Tech. Tell um' I sent ya'. ;)

The way I see it you have two choices:

1. Buy an "expensive" (well, not really) applicator and figure out how to clean it each time. The only thing I've found to remove dressings out of applicators 100% is mineral spirits.

2. Or, do what I do with dressing and leather stuff. Buy foam applicators off eBay from China. You get like a dozen for $3 or $4 delivered to your door. I use one once or maybe twice - then throw it out and just use a new one next time. I don't use them on paint, although they seem fine to do such.

Another take on this method I've done is get a grout sponge (they are like $2), and cut it up and make a bunch of applicators. Use one - throw it out. Works great for trim applicators.

I tend to use some foam applicators, microfiber towels (interior and exterior), waffle to dry, and foam applicators for tire. To be honest I let the foam applicators soak in a bucket with hot water and vinegar for about an hour. Then I throw it in the washer with my moms cleaning rags. The towels I throw them in a separate bucket with hot water and vinegar for over night and the next day I throw them in the washer as well.

how do you clean them with just mineral spirits?

aztec-you the micro towels you let sit in hot water and vinegar over night then in the washer do you add anything in the washer?

I use a paint brush for the tires then get a rag to wipe off potential sling off.
