I was curious if applying a paste wax with a foam pad and PC 7424, blue or red, is a good way to go? Or if i should shoiuld just do it by hand. Also how about removing it? By hand or by the PC?

Apply very thin with a small pad by hand.
When dry, lightly buff off with a good MF or 100% cotton towel by hand.
Wait...
Repeat.

If you put it on too thick you will waste product and in a lot of cases it could be like chiseling concrete to get it off.
In that case, you may need a PC, wool pad covered with a MF bonnet and a little pressure to get it off.
That's just ugly and no fun.

Apply thin and very lightly (by hand) with a quality pad.
Rub/buff lightly (by hand) with a quality towel to remove.
That's real pretty and lots of fun.

Yes, Lake Country makes a gold jeweling pad but that's another thread.

I too find hand application controls use ....

ever since getting my PC, I have found that I like to do both applications. I do one panel at a time, 1st going around all the trim by hand, then quickly filling in the rest with the PC. I always remove by hand
