So after reading Nick's review for Collinite 845, I was wondering what the best carnuba wax to apply on top of Collinite would be? Would something basic like Turtle Carnuba Wax give an extra shine or should I go with something like Dodo Juice or P21S?

The review had said, "Another common question regarding Collinite's No. 845 Liquid Insulator Wax: Can I apply a carnauba paste wax on top of it to amp up the shine and provide even more protection? Absolutely!"

Suggestions, advice?

I have used OCW, Souveran, Dodo and Mother's finishing waxes on top of 845.

I top with souveran, s100, or nb. Haven't had any problems.

What if Collinite #845 is a carnuba-wax...

Would you be averse to applying another film-layer
of it...atop an already existing film-layer of #845?

According to the description, it is a carnuba wax, "Collinite Liquid Insulator Wax, for example, is one of the finest liquid carnauba waxes you can buy."

I would use Collinite as a last layer over top of a sealant like wolfgang

I haven't found significant improvements with layering waxes, but I have found improvements when layering a wax on top of a sealant.

Thank you for the comments! Seems like I missed the fact that 845 is a carnuba! Seems somewhat redundant top Collinite with a Carnuba if that's the case.

If you don't mind me asking, what sealant do you use? Thanks :)

:dunno:.... Today I topped 845 that's over CG glossworkz glaze, with Dodo juice Hard candy.

It depends on why you are going to top with Carnuba? You could always use Optimum No Rinse Wash/Wax w/UV protection. Or, Duragloss Rinseless with Aqua Wax. Both companies offer spray on waxes. Collinite 845 is really all the protection you. If shine/gloss try either Opt. or Duragloss.

I have topped with both Max Wax and Pete's 53- I think Pete's looks better....

I'm just trying to get the maximum shine and protection possible... Would it be a good idea to do it the opposite way? As in, different wax then Collinite 845?

Your best idea is probably is to use a sealant then top with 845. It is an awesome wax and has an awesome shine for being a liquid wax and so easy to apply

You can always top 845 with another layer of 845.

My go-to order is usually the following:

- CG Blacklight or KAIO
- Collinite 845
- Dodo Creme Egg or WG Fuzion

The key is proper wait time(s). Blacklight needs 30 min. and Collie 845 needs 12 to 24 hours...

...then top away.
