I placed an order including Gold Plus towels (Gold Plush Microfiber Kit MC-79GL-K).

The day after I placed the order I received a call from AutoGeek saying that these were out of stock, but they could send the gray ones instead. I asked if they were the same, and made sure to ask that they were the same price. I was informed that yes, they were the same exact towel just a different color.

I received my order yesterday, and I received Arctic 530s in place of the Gold Plush towels.

I see on the site that they are about $2 less than the Gold Plush. I don't really care about $6 worth of towels, I'm just curious as to the price difference? Are the Arctic 530s significantly worse than the Gold Plush?

I also got an Arctic 530 for the free towel with the ONR gallon instead of a 16"x16" Gold Plush, even though I was told they had the smaller size in stock.

I'm just curious about the quality difference.

IMO you got a towel that is on par, i wouldnt worry. In fact, I havent held the artic white in a while, but it might be plusher than the gold one....

The Cobra Gold Plushes are advertised as 350gsm on other sites, I never could find that out on AG, and I assume their Gold Plushes are the Cobras, but that's just an assumption.

Kyle,

If you're not happy with the replacements sent I'd highly recommend you calling AG directly. The link you provided for the gray towels shows them being 530 gsm which would be thicker than the gold 350 gsm towels that dooya has listed. Call them and make sure you're happy with your order. That's their goal.

Not to mention the 530s have been on backorder for weeks. Along with many other Cobra MF towels...

I may give them a call just to see the comparison from their end.

I just found it odd that they called me and told me it was the same thing just a different color. I understand a replacement and would have accepted that but I feel like they tried to trick me lol.

Again I'm not mad at all, just confused.

I would take the gray supreme 530 over the gold plush any day of the week. I have and use all of the Cobra towels and I find myself reaching for Purple Deluxe 600 and Gray Supreme 530 way more than the Gold Plush.

Let me rephrase what I said.

I don't believe that AG intentionally tried to trick me, I just didn't understand why I was told they were the same.

It doesn't matter to me either way, I ordered the 6 pack that comes with 2 530s anyway, but the woman who called me read me the price and said yes, they are the same price.

Just funny that's all. I'm not mad over $2 a towel lol.

Just wondering if you may have misunderstood which towel you were being offered as a replacement. The towel you are referring to in your second post isn't an arctic 530 (no such towel); it's a supreme 530, as described in the link you provided. This particular towel is a 16"x16" towel indeed $7.99. The gold plush towels you ordered are 16"x24" towels for $9.99 each; different sizes so prices are different as well. Do you think the towel below is the towel you were actually offered as a replacement but you may have provided the wrong link or didn't see that there is a supreme 530 'large' towel actually costing more per towel than the gold plush towels that you ordered as a kit? I honestly can't see AG offering you a comparable replacement but at a smaller size.

Cobra Supreme 530 Large Microfiber Towel, microfiber buffing towel, detailing towel, auto detail towel, micro fiber towel

That makes sense, I will have to double check to see if they are rectangular or square.

Thank you for your reply...this is why I posted here and didn't go to AG! It very well have have been me looking at the wrong product.

I hope it was my fault, and I'm grateful that you took the time to point out the size differences.

It didn't feel right that I would be nickled and dimed on an order that qualified me for a free banner...it appears I may not have been and all is right with the world now!
