Are surfactants good or bad?

I've always wondered if surfactants are good or bad. There's this car wash my dad bought and it says it has surfactants. It's called purple passion super concentrated car wash. It looks kinda generic. I would buy another shampoo but I don't wanna waste it.

I'n not familiar with the brand either but I do know that surfactants are found in numerous high quality detailing products.

Do a Google search for define: surfactant to see the definition from various sources.

Surfactants are wetting agents that lower the surface tension of a liquid, allowing easier spreading, and lower the interfacial tension between two liquids.
