When I polish glass, I use a mask. Are you supposed to use one when you polish/compound paint? Like megs 105/205 or menzerna etc?

Thanks,
Drew

I don't and I used 105/205 also. I believe they are low VOC and I never detect an odor from them when using so I'm not worried about it. But I can't say it's a bad idea to where one.

The last time I machine polished my car I wore a mask. I figured this can't be good breathing in this stuff. You see the dusting it leaves behind, think about it in your lungs. I posted a thread about this...I'll have to look it up when I get home. I'm on the forum on my phone right now.

All depends how bad the product stinks.,,LOL

What type of mask? any specific cartridge type? all cartridges are not same . Sometimes you will get false security if improper equipment is used.

I just meant like a white mask that covers your nose and mouth that you would get from hardware store or somewhere like that.

That is a dust mask and that's it. If you have dust my all means do use it as long as you are aware it's for DUST ONLY!

I don't wear a mask. But now that I think about it, I probably should when using a dusty product.

Well, if those abrasives are able to cut paint what do they do to flesh?

I wear one as much as I can.

Do you think it is necessary to wear a mask when applying a sealant or carnuaba by hand. How about a spray sealant such as pinnacle XM360?

Thanks

I don't personally wear a mask. Not that its a bad idea, but with all the crazy stuff I've put in my lungs I figure maybe the addition of some more chemicals might turn me into super man or something lol
