Does anyone own it.

Mainly for washing the roof on the SUV.
I've looked at it on and off on this over the last few year
Not that one sees the *roof* of the SUV anyway

I skipped on it as long handle, head on front....just might as cumbersome as just being on a platform ladder .
They must have released new mitt heads as I got a *spam email* on this which linked to the product and I see they added new cover options to fit it

So revisiting the topic. Anyone have it. Do you like it. Or it it weird with a extended handle and then a *head* ontop

I have a generic one (I think from Amazon) that has a smaller, oval head. It might not have as many adjustment points as the one you're talking about.

I really like it for washing the wife's SUV. I use it on the windshield and the roof and it's a real time saver. With the handle fully extended, I can reach the entire roof from one central place along side the vehicle. The mitt attached to the head is reall soft and I keep it clean, so I've not had any marring issues that I can see.

I should not be using this as a comparison but when I think of such a tool.....these come into my mind

Similar in ergonomics to the MF sleeve on a Unger T Bar on a Handle I use to wash the house windows every spring after winter has passed
or a snow roof rake......same effect. Long Handle with the Business End on the Tip. Just unwieldy.

I suppose it can compared more to an extended snow broom....which is more closer in overall size and shape

I think my major issue is just preference.....when washing paint on cars, I just prefer the tactile reciprocal feedback I get running over a panel with a mitt

I understand, but for me there are areas that I simply can't reach or can't get to with a lot of effort. The vehicle isn't overly tall by SUV standards, but it's pretty wide.

In the case of the wife's car, There is a spot in the top/middle of the windshield that would only be accessible from the roof and reach down from the top...I'm not climbing onto the roof. The center of the roof is an issue as well. To do it by hand directly I'd have to move my ladder 4 or 5 times to get the whole area and there are some areas in the front that are still a really hard reach due to ladder placement and the side mirrors.

I do the entire vehicle by hand except for the roof and windshield. For those areas I bring out the extendable mitt. For me it's safer, faster, and gets the area cleaner because I'm not trying to reach an area with my fingertips. I don't find using it awkward or difficult. It's far easier to use than a snow broom.

I used to use the generic one for a while, but the I broke the extendable arm, but realised it had the same thread as paint roller, so I bought a paint roller pole, but then the mitt wore out, and nobody stocks replacements.

A couple weeks ago I bought the Reacher from Meguiar's. I used it on the last wash. It was good, the extendable arm is very robust, some may find it to heavy, the arm is curved helping to reach over curved roofs and hoods. The mitt is big, and very robust as well, I don't think it will wear out like the cheap one did, but it doesn't fit into a bucket easily, it has to go in at an angle, so it didn't work with my grit guard, I went with hose rinsing the mitt between re-sudsing. The head can be free swinging or locked, but once it's soaped up, the locking knob is very slippery, so I just left it locked. Overall I liked it, it definitely saved me time, and I will keep using it. As someone said earlier, I had to move my platform around four or five times to do the roof on the FJ, this time I used it once on each side, but I managed to do 90% of the roof from the one side. I got it for $39.99 on sale.

I have 2 of these, one is still brand new as a back up...works fine for my truck....no issues.
Been through 40-50 washes....still looks new

Yes, 4-5 times on the platform sounds about right. 2X on the sides. Once on the back...
Always trying to find a better mousetrap.....I feel like it's one of those things I'm trying to talk myself into it even though I probably won't like it.

Yeah I just bought an Amazon one for the RAV4. They work fine.

After hemming and hawing on this, ended up buying it.

Hasn't arrived yet but I suspect, I might need to do a 2 sided DIP *long side* to get full coverage of shampoo.
Unless it was designed so that the mitt head is small enough that a single dip into the bucket will fit the entire head.

I actually do have one of these lying around...for the window wands. Maybe it might be a bi-use product for the *roof wand* as well now

Bought the autofiber one a couple of weeks ago. Got that version because I also got the drying cover and claw towel hood.

Haven't used it but unpacking impressions. Handle I was thinking 2 pieces....for shipment purposes.
It is in 3 pieces.

All 3 yo thread together n , which is nicer than the pushbutton QuickLock of the supper terrible twist-lock compression style for these sort of wands...

Granted, my carpal tunnel in my thumbs has been annoying me for the last 2 weeks , but just already doing a test *hold* on how I would hold it on a roof, without the business being wet and heavier.....I dunno, might be just the same as me getting on a platform with this thing and doing the wash in 1 Swipe. Just doesn't seem that sage on the articulating head, angle of approach and standing and using it. I will need to use it to confirm my initial thoughts

The only time you really feel the weight (in my brief’ experience ) is when you place it on the rook and when you lift it off. Other than that, you’re just sliding it around. It didn’t feel hard, even with ,y health challenges.

Yes and no...that's my biggest thing with wash media. I do like to feel a tactile response....which tells me which panels are dirtier and which panels are just gliding...with this setup, I lose all that.

I float my mitt lower or higher on the panel.....depending on feedback one gets when *hand washing* a panel
Granted I knew that going in...and it's the roof that you never see. And 80% of it' is glass. And the other 20% is PPF so it **self heals** anyway.

But the OCD in me .....I dunno how much I feel about -mopping- over the surface with no tactile feedback,
