Autogold lettering is fading.

The writing has faded on my AutoGold plate. Any suggestions how to safely polish this?? Pictures attached.

Is it clear coated?

If this is a decorative, front license plate; I suggest removal.

Not bashing you at all. It is probably some cheap plating so I would be VERY careful and use the least aggressive method approach.
