Been called a lot of things in my life but this is a first. I use to be a member over there when it was autopia.org. I went to autopia's site just browsing around and figured I would register in the forums while I was there as it does not take all the old user name etc. I fill the registration hit submit and a message shows up basically saying "We do not allow spammers in our forums". Question is where in the h*** did they come up with that ?.

I'm sure it's a tech error. Want me to contact The Ferminator for you?

Yeah, I forgot his address when I was pushing Mary Kay nano polish for wheels on AG's site.

Dave

I laughed at this statement, but I have no idea what you are saying ...

Do you want me to send David a message for you?

I wonder how two different sites wind up with autopia. Anybody with any insight how this occurred ?. I believe, maybe I am wrong but I think the .org was there first.

This just came up in another thread, but I'll repeat it. This is the short, dramaless version. There was Autopia-carcare.com. They had an associated forum. The owner of both split them up and sold them off separately. The company who bought the forum started their own store. PBMG bought the (ACC) store and about the same time bought DetailCity.org, and renamed DetailCity.org to AutopiaForums.com, as a companion forum for Autopia-carcare.com. Later, when PBMG bought CMA, they merged CMA's forum (Truth in Detailing) into AutopiaForums.com. Todd Helme came along with CMA and TID and is "in charge" of AutopiaForums.com

Thanks for the history lesson. I should be up to date now.

I sent a message on the "contact us" page. No reply yet, only been about 30 mins. or so. I am sure some people have better things to do on a Sunday than monitor web sites every minute.

Good luck with that Dave. I was registered over there for a while. Then one day I did a thorough PC cleaning, registry compaction etc. which of course deletes all your saved password cookes et al. Next thing I know I couldn't get into those forums.

I've tried DOZENS of times over the last several months to get back in. Contact us page, e-mails to the admins, and to Ben, you name it. Even have had forum members contact David, as well as a local Atlanta area guy contact him as well (that is a high end detailer). All in the hopes that I may be *worthy* of re-entry but to no avail. :dunno:

Perhaps I could (perhaps) register again with a new user ID, but my point is I shouldn't HAVE to do that. Especially as now I have a different ISP and e-mail addresse(s). Although I've pretty much given up at this point. Seems the "system" is fairly selective as to who it lets in. Lord knows you don't want the riff raff showing up.

He's talking about AutopiaForums.com, not the one you are talking about.

It's all good, they can keep all their Autopia's. I would rather hang out with you real life people anyway. Besides, you guy's read my spam and don't give me a hard time about it. LOL

Were you trying to register on Autopiaforums.org? If so, contact me and I will see what the issue is :xyxthumbs:

autopia.org is one of the most open detailing discussion forums around and i wouldn't think there would be a problem registering/posting on there. not sure about the other sister site to AG though...

He's talking about AutopiaForums.com, not the one you are talking about.

Now I'm even confused. When Dave mentioned this.

Now mentions this....

No, tried registering here 3 times. Same result. We do not allow spammers.
Autopia Forums - Auto Detailing & Car Discussion Forum

Registered here with no problems
Autopia Car Care Products - Car Detailing Supplies, Car Wax, Car Polishers, Auto Detailing

As both of the above ones are the same. :dunno:

But yeah.... I'm fine with the PBMG family. ;)

autopia.org * the original * (owned by 3D/HD)

autopia-carcare.com & autopiaforums.com & autogeek.net & autogeekonline.com (owned by PBMG)

When I signed up for this Autopia Car Care Products - Car Detailing Supplies, Car Wax, Car Polishers, Auto Detailing it takes email etc. everything is ok. When going to the forums and asked to register it is screen name etc. That is when I am a spammer. If I enter the log in info from Autopia Car Care Products - Car Detailing Supplies, Car Wax, Car Polishers, Auto Detailing the forums tell me it is invalid. So there is two different Log in's as Autopia Car Care Products - Car Detailing Supplies, Car Wax, Car Polishers, Auto Detailing does not have a screen name. Clear as mud ?.
