For Easter, I received a pc 7424 - talk about a great Easter Bunny!! I've only used a rotary, so I'm very excited to try this out. Anyway, I'm going to order some CCS pads (and backing plate), and am wondering what the average lifespan of the CCS pads are. I know it depends upon how many cars you detail/wk., but if they're well taken care of (the pads, that is), what can I anticipate if I purchase say, 1 orange, 1 green, 1 white & 1 gray? Also, should I order 2 white since it's for applying waxes/polishes/sealants? Right now, I anticipate doing 2-3 cars/wk.

Thank you in advance for your input.

what do you intend to clean these pads w/ after each appication?

If I can give you one piece of advice, it's to wear sunblock.

No, but seriously, after you wash them, dry them carefully. I made the mistake of putting my white LC pad in the ziplock bag too soon and it ended up becoming moldy.

Yea dont get mold that happned to me too and they dont try out that quick in my experance

i think that the pads will last a really long time. at least a good 10-15 cars. I have done 2 cars so far with my pads and they get really dirty once the car is finished, but then i just spray them with the XMT pad cleaner and scrub it with my hands in warm water, they come out looking brand new again. Yes, they take forever to dry, my white pad takes longer than 12 hours to dry indoors. The paper that comes with the pads says after you wash them you should spin them on the PC to remove water, i havent tried this yet but it should speed up the dry time.

Depending how often use use them, how big is a vehicle you are working on.

Wash with XMT pad cleaner and water, when your done use a towel to sandwich it and squeeze out as much water as you can.Air dry

I plan on cleaning them with either Wolfang's or XMT's pad cleaner.

As far as the size of the vehicles, right now I have lined up 4 door sedans (civic, accord & volvo). I would anticipate detailing more cars, than say, SUV's.

Oh, and I'll be sure to dry them thoroughly - sure don't want any mold - blech!!

My ccs pads have gone through a good amount of use so far and clean up nice. You should get years of use out of them.
