What do you get when you mix a Navigator switching two lanes wanting to make a swift left turn without looking and wet weather?

It's a good thing I didn't detail the Explorer this morning...

That stinks! Looks like you will be doing some buffing this weekend.

Well, it was their fault so I am thinking I'll leave the buffer in the box until I get it back from the bodyshop to get all the wonderful rotary swirls out!!!

Dang sorry to see that! That Nav better be glad it didn't tangle with your big a$$ truck. Hope everything get repaired nicely.

i think some rubbing compund and a clay bar outta take that out...just buff it real good... :) sorry to see that happen...glad you are okay...definitely stock up on some swirl remover for whatever the bodyshop is about to do to your car...

That really sucks I got backed into in a parking lot and it dented part of my bumper and scraced the paint off too, but there is nothing i can do about it i have to live with it!

Shoulda been driving the Cummins, just run over them pansy suv's:D. Friend has a lifted Cummins, he calls Honda's "Speed-bumps" lol, "you drivea a Honda Speed Bump?"

Thanks everyone. That black stuff on the gray plastic isn't going to come off and there is paint missing on the black bumper piece. Also, the right fender is dented (cannot see that well in the pics) and the hood is slighly dented as well. I'll keep everyone up to date on getting this thing fixed. Right now we're talking to the insurance companies...

Yes, if I had been driving the Cummins, I think the Navigator would have been missing a wheel and the rear axle!!! I was actually surprised how well the little Explorer did vs. the big Navigator...

Sorry to see that, nothing better to ruin a day! Best of luck getting it fixed, hope it comes out looking good. Keep us posted.

Explorers are strong trucks, years ago in an Explorer I had, guy cut me off and then slammned on his brakes out of nowhere trying to make a turn I guess he was going to miss it or something. Well, even though I hit my brakes I still rammed him hard. My truck had just some small dents, his pickup looked like it got nailed by a Semi lol.

As an update, the Explorer finally went into the bodyshop this morning. I asked my wife what she had to say when she dropped it off and she repeated "Please do not wash the SUV and do not put a rotary to any panel is not being fixed".

How awesome is she?

PS: I might get the hood completely repainted whilst they're at it, should hopefully come out looking nicely...

UPDATE!

We just got the Explorer back from the bodyshop yesterday and frankly, it looks good! It does seem that they washed it (ARGH!) but they at least didn't take a rotary to it.

Since they were just going to repair the damage from the accident, I had inquired how much it would cost to repair the entire hood since it was in bad condition and to fill in the rock chips. I wasn't too excited about their quoted price, so I told them to just leave it and just do the work the insurance company was going to cover.

So much to my surprise when I came home, they repainted the entire hood and filled in all the rock chips.

I was VERY pleased!!!

So my question: how long before I can start washing and polishing on it?
