Newbie question... I just purchased 6.5" lake county thin pro pads. I have a PC-7346 with a 5" loop backing plate.
will this be okay for the 6.5" pads or do I need a larger baking plate ...

Unfortunately, it's best to get the larger backing plate. Dual-Action Hook & Loop Flexible Backing Plate 6"

Will your setup work? Yes it will but it will be inefficient because the smaller backing plate(5") is not fully against the larger pad(6.5").

Since you have the first gen PC and already have the 5" backing plate, you should have gotten the Lake Country ThinPro Foam Pad System 5.5 Inch. That would turn your PC into a beast.

Maybe you can exchange your 6.5" for 5.5" thin pros?

This article is perfect for you:

Hope this helps.

You need smaller pads. Can you exchange them for 5.5" pads?

yes stupid me..unfortunately my order has already shipped. might be less expensive to just order a 6" backing plate.

How many pads did you order?

Pads don't weigh much. Just check to see how much it would cost to ship them back. That way you can exchange it.

The 5.5" pads will work more effectively than the 6.5" pad setup on the first gen PC. Just FYI.

Thanks to all for the info. Guess I'll wait for the order to arrive and see about shipping back for exchange.
