This video was captured at our Cars & Coffee #7 (lots of pictures), and as you watch the video you'll also see Richard Earl the grandson of the famous car designer Harley Earl.

Richard Earl is the grandson of Harley Earl the famous car designer that brought us the 1959 Cadillac just to name one of his famous designs.

Check out the Harley Earl "I Love Automobiles" Facebook Page here to see some of his many iconic car designs.

Exactly. Harley Earl made his mark in the automotive world with his designs that were always ahead of their time and their beauty endures to this day.

For anyone reading this that might not be exactly sure what the first production Corvette looked like, that is a Harley Earl design, we had a perfect example here at Detail Fest last year and the owner has been so kind as to let us know if we EVER want to use his car for ANY event he's more than happy to bring it to Autogeek from Ford Lauderdale.

1953 Corvette at Autogeek's 9th Annual Detail Fest

There were a lot of amazing cars at Detail Fest this year on both Saturday and Sunday. One car in particular was a very rare 1953 Chevrolet Corvette. Chevrolet only built 300 Corvettes and David and Maryanne own #239 of the 300 built.

The car is now 61 years old and we think having an original, mint condition 1953 Corvette at the 9th Annual Detail Fest our show is pretty special.

I spent some time speaking with the owner, David about having him and his Corvette back to Autogeek's Show Car Garage for a future project David agreed. So stay tuned as you're going to see this beautiful Corvette grace Autogeek's Show Car Garage with a special appearance!

Here's his beautiful 1953 Corvette...

David has a custom car hauler to safely transport their rolling piece of history to local car shows.

That's great vid! Barry truly is "Car Crazy!"

OT (a bit): Seeing and hearing Harley Earl's grandson, and thinking about the great designs he came up with, brings back memories of the "Fisher Body Craftsman Guild."

It (The Guild) was GM nation wide contest for young aspiring car designers. Where the winner was given a scholarship to the GM Design Center and a job when finished. The contest ran from 1938 to 1968.

I would venture to guess a lot of guys got their first 'kick in the tail' about customizing from being involved with The Guild.

There is a boat load of information if one just 'googles' Fisher Body Craftsman Guild.

Thanx Mike for posting the vid with Barry...really inspiring to say the least.

Bill
