Okay, so, after you have cleaned the tires and wheels.

Do you apply the protected coating right after you have completely cleaned the wheel, or after you have cleaned all four wheels and have washed the car?

This is for a basic wash and wax
Clean wheel and tires
Wash car
Dry car
Then dress tires and seal wheels
Sealant/wax
Clean trim
Windows

I'd switch the trim and waxing steps... maybe i'm just sloppy, but i always get some wax on the trim.

My routine usually consists of dressing trim and tires last, but this really depends on how long I will have a car.

The tyres and trims tend (not always) to be the least durable part of the process. As a result we recommend to apply products to these area last to ensure that nothing else the user does might compromise this. Ultimately, as long as no cleaning products come into contact with them after the dressings are applied, it should make minimal difference.
