Or anywhere else along I-26 in SC?

I am traveling that road next week. My family and I are huge BBQ fans. We want to hit some genuine Carolina BBQ on route. Just looking for suggestions.

Not on I-26 but if you happen to be going down I-77 The Front Porch, in Richburg, SC, Exit 65. I stop every time I go by. Great southern home-style place, cash only with the daily menu on a chalkboard. Very cool rustic setting. The catfish was excellent as well.

There's some other links on that page that may be worth exploring. If I recall correctly, they had limited hours.

Maurice's is a very famous BBQ place in Columbia. Noted for their mustard based sauce.

I have a brother who lives in Charlotte, NC and when he heads South, he stops at Little Pigs. It's close to the I-77 - I-20 intersection.

World Famous Little Pigs Barbecue!

I have heard of this place...never stopped....I make that southern trek to Hilton Head every year...so i'll be on the look out.The best bbq I have ever had was right here at home.A few close friends get together to cook for special occasions and its THE BEST BBQ you will ever taste!

There's a good BBQ place outside Charlotte that my brother took me to last year. If you head West on S. Tryon St., it becomes York Road. Just after you go across the bridge at Lake Wylie, it's on the right in a little strip center behind T Bones on the Lake. There's also a pretty good Mexican restaurant in the same strip center.

Thanks for all the responses so far. I knew I could count on the Geeks to have some recommendations. Keep em coming, please.

I came across several of these while googling including little pigs, sticky fingers and Maurices. Hard part will be deciding which one. Might even try to hit em all.

I hear ya. I make the best BBQ I have ever tasted. But my goal was to eat BBQ from the 4 major regions (I know, others will argue about this) - Kansas City, Memphis, Texas and Carolina. I have had them all, but, the kids have not. We must have some Carolina Cue while we are there.

Here is my recent thread on one of my recent cooks.

The best BBQ is in Driftwood, Tx. A little out of the way.
