Been toying with idea of tossing out the wash mitt procedure and go with these brushes with handles.

Bending down and dipping mitts in buckets working on large trucks and SUV just isn't cutting it.

I can see this is doable for aggressive wash before polishing.

But

Can it work on cars that have already been polished for maintenance purposes as well? Or is the brush too aggressive for routine wash?

Actually, I use my Montana Boars Hair Brush for the opposite, when I have a really dirty car and a wash mitt or microfiber running over all that seems like a bad idea marring wise, I will pressure wash as much as I can and then GENTLY wash with the Boars Hair Brush to knock the big particles off. The brush doesn’t drag dirt over the paint like a mitt or towel but rather flicks the big stuff off. The negative is that this GENTLE Boars Hair Brush wash leaves road film and other small stuff. After rinsing the wash off, I will leaf blow the water off then spray with a rinseless wash at QD strength , let dwell for a bit, then get the smaller particles with the rinseless wash. Basically a double wash but easier than repolishing.
 
Thanks....Makes sense. Was afraid brushed would be too soft.

Kind of recalled seeing something about a "wash mitt" on a pole somewhere. Looking for it now and I'm not sure where yet.

An OCD Detailer named Accumulator on some boards did THOROUGH testing on Boars Hair Brushes and his conclusion was that if a brush is soft enough not to mar, it is too soft to clean like a mitt or towel but is PERFECT as part one of of a two step mar free wash of a really dirty car. I didn’t believe him and felt the brush alone would clean sufficiently. I Boars Hair Brush washed only a car in the shade and then started claying it. Shocked how much the clay was picking up. Then pulled the car in the sun and in the sun could see road film on the car and realized I needed to mitt wash the car and polish the area washed lol.
 
Check out AutoFanatic on YouTube. He has a wash mop setup I think from Griot's that he swears by and had modified to ensure safe washing.
