Begginer level extractor

Is there such a thing as an entry level extractor or something equivalent. I am looking for mostly just family vehicles as well as maybe 30 cars a year. I guess I am looking for the cheapest route to get started. Do they have other brands around $300 that just do not have the life span of a mytee or other top brands.

Only thing that would be considered beginner is the Bissel little green machine. A lot of guys use it and have good results. For about 100 bucks you can't go wrong.
 
Above is a link to a bissell little green machine that looks exactly like something I found in my basement. Does this look like what you where talking about?

I have the Bissell Proheat Auto but have yet to use it. Seems to be great for a $100 machine from what I've seen.
 
That looks to be an older model. The newer ones have two tanks on the side.

I use a Rug Doctor with an upholstery attachment. It doesn't heat up the water but I use a steamer and a carpet brush to scrub and agitate the dirt out first. Then I just extract with the Rug Doctor. You can get them on sale sometimes for around $300 if you keep an eye out for deals.

I like it because I can do the carpets in my house too. I am also playing around with the idea of offering carpet cleaning in the winter when auto details usually slow down for me.
 
Yeah, you have two options as I see it. The Bissell Little Green Clean Machine or similar is a usable device. I'm not sure if it will hold up for 30 cars, I cracked the extraction nozzle on mine pretty early on.

The other thing to do is just apply your liquids and do your agitation by hand, and get a nozzle for your wet vac to extract with. That works good especially if you are working somewhere where you can get hot water.
 
The bissell extractors arent worth your 100 bucks. They hardly extract well, they are under very little pressure at the pump, its more of a drissle of solution not a nice spray. Trust me I have used even the ebst ones they got, and there not worth it.

I forgot to mention a lot of people make there own. They buy the nice 3" extractor wand, hook it up to a wet/dry vacuum and for the solution they hook it up to a pump inside a 5 gal bucket or they use air pressure.

I thought the bissell pro heat would not live up to my exceptions but I gave it a shot. It will do a decent job. I have done like 15 cars with it and they all came out good. The machine seems to hold up decent.

I use carpet brushes on my Cyclo with some Folex and carpet shampoo, then use water in the Bissell to rinse and extract. The end result is to remove the dirt and this will accomplish it.

This looks like a very good deal. Have you personally used the sanitaire or purchased from the site you posted a link to? Have you, in comparison, used the Bissell LG? I've been looking to replace my LG because it doesn't heat the water (I don't have the proheat) and not having heat really bugs me. In addition, though it does produce good results, the vacuum sucks (or rather, doesn't suck lol) so I have to break out the wet vac which adds more time and is a minor hassle. Does the sanitaire heat the water as well? Thanks!
 
Call around to some local professional carpet cleaning companies. A lot of these smaller companies have older pro units sitting around that can be bought pretty cheap. I picked this old Castex unit up for $220. It's not heated but it has a good 150 psi. pump and the water lift is very high power.
