Hi everyone, im fairly knew to detailing and i love everything about it. I work for a chevy dealership detailing, we dont do many customer details we mostly just detail the trade ins, and i have been doing cars on the side for friends and family. My question is, is there a general price for detailing. i know there are many different packages people offer so this question could be very wide open, but ive been mostly just doing small stuff like wash, vac, windows, door jambs, wipe interior, and wax, i dont want to over charge people but i also dont want to loose money either, if anyone could give me so advise on prices that would be greatly appreciated. thank you

Welcome to the forum! Price is determined by many factors: The kind of market you are in, level of detailing provided, and products used to name a few. The best way in my opinion to do it is to figure out how long it takes you to do the package you described above and then decide how much you would like to make per hour. Then add some to cover the cost of materials.
Also make sure that if you have add on services:
Trim Restoration
Carpet extraction
Headlight Restoration etc
Make sure you charge accordingly and that your customers don't think they are all included in a basic detail package.

I would start by looking what competition is out in the market already and what prices they charge. That will give you an idea of what the "going" rate is and whether that works for what you are looking for.

Google search auto detailing in your area. You should already know about what a detail in your area costs based on what the dealer is charging.
