Great! After I fall in love with Lake County CCS Pads they only sell 4"

I already have a bunch of 5.5" pads for the PC 7424 with a 5" BP

4" pads just don't seam small enough considering my big pads are only 1.5" bigger.

Lake County makes a yellow 2 7/8" BP that I was just getting ready to order.

Does anyone sell good 3" pads?

The 3" low profile hyrdo tech pads are even better. They measure 3" x 7/8" and are nearly the same size as the Griot's 3" pads.

I've seen these, (3"x7/8") and had some wonder, but I've seen these at CarPro's site I beileve, and cannot find such at AG, or Autopia.

Which begs the question? If you're gonna carry a company's products, then how about carrying their entire line and fill in the missing gaps?

I've seen numerous "Gaps" on AG-Autopia.

Where's CarPro's Glass Polishing Pads on your sites? They're MIA, aren't they?

Hopefully, 2013 will be a better year, these folks will fill these missing gaps?!

Another online vendor carries them and most flat pads. That's what most people prefer anyway, I don't know very many CCS users other than beginners. I've been tinkering with the LC Cool Wave pads and they are okay, not enough to make me switch.

The full size 3" Hydrotech pads are pretty bad. I love these 4" self centering pads from Chemical Guys. They use a 3" backing plate:

They spin well, they are low profile. I wish more pads came this way.

Why not use GG 3" pads with your GG DA? I use them on my customers' cars and my own with excellent results.

The Griot's pads are nice but the LC HT pads give you more flexibility. Until recently you had 1 option for Griot's pad, now you have 2. Not saying the Griot's are a bad choice either, personally I would have them all on hand.

To tell you the truth I was good friends with allot of guys that worked at the Vise Grip Factory in Dewitt NE When Erwin tools bought the Vise Grip name in 2004 they moved the manufacturing to China and all my friends lost their jobs.

If you have ever been laid off from a good job you know how devastating it is.

I will buy GG stuff if I have to I bought the polisher) but I can tell you I hate seeing that "Made in China" on their polisher, pads, etc... from GG

I get a smile and feel better as a proud American whenever I open a Lake County ANYTHING and it says "Made in USA" all over it.

I will pay more for quality AND I will pay more for stuff manufactured in the country I am loyal to.:xyxthumbs:

BTW my Honda nut buddy HATES Chinese junk, but actually thinks Japanese made is of a higher quality than USA made.

I myself have a brand little Griots 3" DA Polisher coming soon, and hopefully all will be well with that, because it's a private sale.

I'm hoping to get a nice little assortment of Pads for this machine, to basically have all bases well covered.

I'd like having a selection of Griots Pads, the 3" 1-1/4" thick, and low profile 7/8" thick LC HT Pads as well.

Others I want for this machine are the CarPro 3" Rayon Glass Polishing Pads.

At CarPro USA's website, I believe they are still offering free shipping with a $75 order, so one day, if that offer still stands, I might get myself a nice big bottle of their Ceriglass Polish, and some of these needed pads, which I see neither AG, or Autopia Carry.

Maybe might even go nuts, and order some CQuartz, and CQuartz DLX?

For the most part that is true. Japaneese products are usually superior as far as automobiles & electronics. Just look at the import sales and consumer reports on japaneese cars. As far as China made stuff, well thats debatable. The quality depends on what regulations the manufacturer demands.

For example the iPhone was designed in California but assembled in China. Pretty excellent quality if you ask me. I would love to buy American and help keep american jobs at home, but its the power of money & greed that many american companies would rather ger cheap labor to reduce their costs and maximize their profit.

Its an EXCELLENT business strategy, but not doesnt support American values unfortunately.

I'll be honest with you, if you're using the Griot's 3" polisher then I would only buy low profile pads. Leave the thicker pads for full size machines with a 3" backing plate setup. You can't apply tons of pressure with this little machine like you can the full size, so the smaller or thinner the pad the easier it is for it to rotate. You will understand once you use it.

America has lost it mostly. Against the Japanese.

The Japanese still love Fender Basses, Gibson, and Paul Reed Smith Guitars, McIntosh Audio, Harley Davidsons, 57 Bel Airs, 68 Camaros, and S ting Rays. Go to Kenrick audio.

Don't underestimate the Asians, against Zeiss, Leitz, my good friend Roland Christen at Astro-Physics, as some of the finest optical companies in the world.

Japan has Takahashi, Fujinon, and quite a few others.

One should experience what it is like, to view the heavens though a pair of 6" Fujinon Binos, that are the size of a small car.

Yeah man, Japaneese love anything "american made". American rock is big in Japan. A Corvette ZR1 in Japan is what a Nissan Skyline GTR is to people here in the U.S

Thank you for this info, and advice.

What about those 4" Chemical Guys self centering pads above?

Are they OK for the 3" GG polisher? Or should I stick to 3" only low profile pads on this little machine?

You can try them. I haven't attempted 4" pads on the GG3" because it struggles with any pressure. Even on speed 6. If you have a spare PC XP or similar polisher then I would set it up for 4" pads. This is just my opinion of course that is based on my experience with my machine.
