Any recommendation? Preparing for my first detailing. Just ordered a PC7424 with pads and M105/205/M21. Feed back please

Mothers has a pretty good clay kit if you're on a budget and want to buy OTC

Forget the clay speedy prep towel or if you own a machine nanoskin pad with a DA. Both products will save you time and with the towel you don't have to worry about dropping it as with clay once you drop it is trash. Speedy prep towel you just wash off and go back at it.

The Meg's or Mothers Clay Kit's are available OTC for around $20. You get plenty of clay along with a QD and a towel.

First time using DA? If so I'd skip M105 totally, I know its get pushed here like its the end all be all, but honestly you need to jump through hoops to make it work well. Just stick with M205, unless you want massive headaches.

For clay, try mothers kit, budget friendly and works really really well without marring paint noticeably, plus the lube smells like cinnamon.

As much as im a fan of many Mother's products, their Clay Bar however isnt one of them. Their clay bar is VERY mild, almost no significant cleaning ability. The clay isnt very malleable either.

I recommend Clay Magic (blue bar) for light to moderate contamination. Its my go-to clay bar when I need a bit more contamination removal.

OR

Meguiar's Clay Kit. It comes with two 50g mild clay bars (white), a black plastic box to store them in so they dont dry, a quality Megs supreme shine towel, & a bottle of Quick Detailer for around $15.99

Wish I could help the clay bars I use can't buy anymore. So when I run out I will cry lol.

Says the guy with a meguiars logo in his signature ;)

For budget, I'd also recommend the mother's claying kit, however only if it's cheap over there (in canada it runs you $30, so not really the cheapest alternative out there).
I'd recommend the opti-erasers or CG clayblock; they're both just as expensive as one of the premium clays at around $20, but they're reusable many MANY times which pays for itself even after the second time you use them.

Ok don't laugh went in the shop to go look at the name again and none of the white boxes has a name. I Haven't bought clay in so long I for got the name lol.

LOL! What do you plan on using after you run out? I know you work on alot of high end cars, im interested in what you think is a solid clay bar to work with?

Here in Hawaii, when i was shopping at this Japanese market store, they had a Japanese clay bar in their small auto isle, I think it was a fine grade but for $4/200 grams, I grabbed 5 packs, felt different compared to my Meguiars OTC Clay but it worked great like a normal clay. Been using it since.

So in your line up its Megs kit, then Clay Magic, then Mothers? Megs kit having the best cleaning ability?

Negative. Blue Magic has the best cleaning ability vs Megs white consumer clay & mothers clay. Now if you want to compare bar vs bar, the Blue professional clay bar from Meg's would be a direct comparison to Blue Magic. However, you can get a bar of Blue Magic for $7.99 vs $25 dollars for Meg's.
