i got a gallon can of Maxx Solv a while back when Klean-Strip decided to make it impossible to find Prep-All, even after calling them. it was so annoying. anyway, Maxx Solv works great. was very cheap. i put it in an easier to manage old Prep-All can and just put a blue shop paper towel over the mouth, flip the can over real fast, saturate the towel and hold it over the spot to remove so the tar is saturated and wipe. i'll go over the spot again with another soaked area of the towel and that's it. any extra solvent evaporates away with no residue. that's a great feature.

What do you mean by 'best'? Fastest is what the UK market associates with best but that actually equates to most aggressive. Often, the fastest acting product will be the most likely to damage the surface whuch, to me, means that fast acting products are cheap bulk use products which should not really be in the bag of a high end detailer.

Plain old minerals spirits will clean up tar and bugs in a hurry. Make sure you wash and wax afterwards.

Tarminator and TW both work well, just let them dwell a few minutes. Trix works OK, but not cheap.
