Short and simple, I'm going to be selling my black TL-s and I don't have the time or want to put in the man hours to do a full detail on my vehicle since I will be selling it. It had a full detail last spring and I've been very good to it since but because it has soft Acura paint, it still has some swirls in it.

In the past, I've heard about products that you want to avoid because they simply give the optical illusion of paint having a scratch/swirl free surface by filling in the imperfections. I've always wondered if dealerships used these to save on labor.

Do you guys have any suggestions on a product that I could use for this? Even taking the time to do a quick polish is not something I want to do, a filler would be much better.

Thanks!

They say this stuff is legendary:

But I've never used it. Honestly, the best looking prep product I've used is Swissvax Cleaner Fluid Regular. But, you probably aren't going to want to pay $$$ for that if your ditching the car.

Amigo or Black Hole.

Thank you, I will take a look at both. Both look like cleaner waxes though. I take it they contain enough oil and filler that they fill in swirls and give the appearance of a swirl/scratch free surface?

Amigo: light polish / paint cleaner / glaze

Black Hole: pure acrylic glaze

BC2: AIO

Swissvax Cleaner Fluid Regular: oily non abrasive paint cleaner / glaze.

what you want to do is two step process first you want to use a glaze I recommend Meguiar's number 7 followed by a hand wax. the whole thing should take about an hour

Many waxes have some filling properties. I was suprised at how well Zymol Carbon filled in light toweling marks on the hood of my black Toyota. Mothers Cleaner Wax is well recieved and may do what you are asking for a reasonable price?

I was looking at first using Poorboy Blackhole followed by Poorboy Natty Blue Paste Wax. What do you guys think?

Anything is better than a 12 hour detail before selling the car to someone who won't know the proper way to take care of the paint!

While were on the topic, why are some glazes designed specifically for dark vehicles? My new vehicle is kinetic blue pearl and I was thinking of using the poorboys black hole on it as well but it says that it's specifically for dark vehicles. Are there specific glazes/fillers for lighter vehicles?

Looks like Megs 66 is more of an all in one product, am I correct? I see that Megs also has another product, Megs 80 which is a speed glaze which from my interpretation seems to have more filler properties.

Ya, 66 is more of an all in one. It will save u time while cleaning and leaving a wax feel. Good stuff.

So like Poorboys Black Hole, Megs 66 will only be a temporary fix in that the swirls will start to slowly appear after a few washes?

Dude, it ain't gonna jump on the car all by itself...you gotta put forth some effort.

Finish Kare 2685 Pink Wax, car wax, polymer carnauba wax, auto wax, finish care

Layer Finish Kare 2685 Pink Paste Wax for an even deeper shine and to conceal minor scratches and swirls. It can be layered over itself, or over a base coat of Finish Kare 2180 Ultra Sealant for added durability

Yes, but ur selling the car?

Yes, which is why I don't care about the longevity so much. This is a production scenario where I want to put the least amount of effort/time forth necessary and have the cars paint look the best it can.

I'm normally a perfectionist and would never do this. The cars paint already looks better than 98% of cars on the street.

I know, doing a one over with my GG DA isn't going to kill me, I just want a product that does what I want it to do!

If it were me and I was in a hurry and needed it to withstand a few washes I'd run down to my local auto supply and pick up/hand apply NXT . Will fill well.

Look for anything that has kaolin/kaolinite as an ingredient...:buffing:

Haha love the emoticon.

I have some NXT actually. I just was never real impressed with it. I'm just going to go the Poorboys Black Hole + Natty Blue Wax route.

NXT is a good off the shelf sealant. Most in this genre fill minor swirls.

Good luck and God bless.

What are you going to replace the TL with ?
