This thread may rub some people the wrong way but let's see where it goes.

So after I got out of my fanatical car detailing phase, I wanted a quick method of washing the car as possible. So I usually do a full detail clay polish at the end of fall and beginning of spring. Other than those 2 times I am as lazy as they come.

Basically I use the foam foam gun for everything. Water down car, soap up car, let sit for few minutes, resoap car, scrub down with mitt, water down car, then mix .5-1 oz of optimum opti-seal to my foam gun and go over my entire car evenly till the bottle is empty in my gun, then dry car. Voila. Car wash as quick as I could imagine with very acceptable results.

Well now I only have about 1 oz of the optimum opti-seal left and need to either get more or switch to something else.

Does anyone else have any recommendations on another liquid wax I could use? Been searching around for all liquid waxes that are ok to apply wet but wanted to see if anyone else has experience with better options.

Thanks!

You don't use a foam gun, but you might look at Hydro from Car pro.

If you safe looking for quick and painless Permanon or Hydro2 are where it's at. H2 is better in my opinion though as the durability of Permaon is lacking in my opinion and experience.

You may also want to look into Nanolex WashCoat. I have some and am testing it now.

Watch the UK market! Some big advances to come in this area!

.5-1oz into the foam gun? did you add any water to it at all? Seems a bit like a waste because "One ounce completely seals and protects 4-5 cars!"

Anyhow, the only one to use with the foam gun is the nanolex washcoat as mentioned, as far as I know anyway. Hydro2 is sprayed on by precise dilution then pressure washed off to activate.

Usually it's around 1/2 oz and adding little bit extra due to it going into the entire bottle filled with water then sprayed onto the car. Not really measuring... just pour little bit, fill up with water, spray with foam gun till empty.

U sure the hydro2 can't be used in a foam gun? The application using foam gun is very similar to spraying it. And then rinsing the car down with just water after sounds like it should work.

Thanks for all the recommendations guys!

Hyrd02 is really great. It's $15 a freaking application though, but if you're only doing it twice a year it's BY FAR the best spray on and walk away product. Besides, it's good for plastic, glass, tires, underneath, you name it.

Just be VERY CAREFUL and pay attention to the installation instructions. Don't spray but a small portion at once, then rinse. No sun, AT ALL! Moving around the vehicle top to bottom and it does what they say it does.

It's a great time saver for the 'lazy days' or if you've got someone that is willing to pay for it, and doesn't care that it's not a WOWO or WOWA sealant. (Because it's not as good as either.) Yet for something that you can spray on a wet car, then remove it with water, it's as easy (lazy) as you can get. :props:

I think it would be rather costly to use hydro in a foam gun. I would apply Hydro to the manufacturers instructions to insure the best results but you could contact the manufacturer and ask them about using it in a foam gun and see what they have to say about it.

Hmm ok. You were getting protection from using OS like that?

I mean hydro2 can be used like that or anyway you want, but that's not the correct method the manufacturer that has intended to work. Do you know the ratio of the foam gun? Its been engineered to work at 3 parts water to 1 part hydro. If you know how to get that precisely out of the cannon then please tell me because I bought some hydro2. Otherwise it's not a correct dilution and it's wasted product and time.

I've also been assuming foam cannon when you say gun... I know the foamaster gun does have dilution settings. Which do you mean? If its the foamaster then ignore my response as it was to a cannon. Also the nanoplex is also for cannons only.

Not sure where you are getting $15 per application of H2? I can coat most vehicles with 4-6oz of product. So at most I am using 1.5oz of H2.

500ml = 16.9oz for $65. From this bottle I can get 14+ applications of H2
$65 / 14 = $4.65 so yes it is still a little more expensive but not near $15 at least according to my math.

What I was referring to Troy was the 50ml single use bottle. That's a 200ml mix, or about 6¾ ounces. I will say that sure, you can easily get a vehicle done with that, and then some. Yes, a little goes a LONG way! :xyxthumbs: (And sure, that's enough to do 2 small vehicles if you're careful and don't lose any to prevailing winds.) Yet a large jacked up 4x4 would easily end up with the full amount on it, especially as you'll end up spraying the wheels, even the jacked up undercarriage. ;)

Sorry, I didn't check the current prices on AG. The last time I looked was in the spring on Corey's site and ordered then. I was thinking $5 at least, (not $15) which was a part of the conversation I had with Corey back then when the bottles were priced at $15.99. Basically being that it would double the cost of a typical sealant (WOWO or WOWA) in that both (sealants and Hydr02) have about the same durability, yet Hydr02 would save you a TON of time in the process. Especially over a WOWO sealant. :)
