Hi I own a detail shop in Chicago called Finishing Touch Detail I own a Flex polisher I use pinnacle jeweling wax and sonax one step. Wondering what are the best pads out there you recommend Mike ... Thanks Matt

You said you have a "FLEX" polisher.

Which one? The type of polisher you have is a HUGE factor as to which type of pads I would recommend as well as size of pads.

My guess is you have one of the BEASTS or the FINISHER.

I have zero idea what the part numbers of for these tool, it's ridiculous to refer to them by their part numbers.

Hey Mike I have the flex "BEAST" XC 3401 dual action polisher.... what would the best pads to use.. thanks Matt
 
On our BEAST we came to settle on the Lake Country Force Hybrid pads, liked them better than the CCS pads, they are designed for the forced rotation of the BEAST and have a nice centering hole for quick pad swaps. Especially love the Red pad, nothing soaks into the pad, so no wasted wax or sealant.

Here's my pick and what I'm currently using...

For heavy correction - Lake Country 6.5" Orange Force Hybrid Cutting Pad

For Polishing and finishing work - RUPES 7" CP Pads - Yellow and White


I keep trying to like the new RUPES CP blue foam cutting pads but that's a negatory. I keep going back to the LC Orange Hybrid pads.


I'm going to spend some more time with some of the 7" B&S pads and will have a qualified opinion for these later. But for now, the above 3 pads for "foam" pads will make you happy and get the job done.

The best pad depends on the particular job you are doing. For moderate defects, I'd suggest the Griot Boss Microfiber Fast finishing pad. Those pads cut better and quicker than mild foam cutting pads. I'd still suggest a second step to bring the gloss up. The griots Boss yellow polishing pad is a great all around polishing/finishing pad. Those two pads should get most stuff done.

I agree with the above too. The light cutting microfiber pad is a great cutting pad, just keep in mind that on softer paints, a fiber pad can cut so well that each if the fibers can and will leave their own CUT IN the paint and this shows up as micro-marring when using an orbital.

This is not a problem as long as you inspect for it and then like DUBLOWS6 stated, do a follow up step using a foam polishing pad to remove the micro-marring.
