Although Im not a pro, I am a fanatic about keeping my cars looking great. Im interested in opinions on the best sealant for new cars. I'd like to offer some protection from the desert sun and sand.

I have have read the posts on Wolfgang deep gloss sealant, the old standard Liquid Glass as well as Klasse sealant.

When new, my Shelby GT500 received a coat of Klasse sealant then Pinnacle souveran carnauba and looks great.

Is one better than the other and how do you think they compare to Liquid Glass? How are you using these products?

I just tried a new product called auto finesse tough coat. It's a great product. It looks great on white cars and it's supposed to last 5 months.

I have not tried the following sealants, but others have recommended it highly to me. I will give them a try after I run out of my current products, but that might be next year as I have bought a lot of stuff lately. Another one is duragloss 501.

Four Star Ultimate Paint Protection, Four Star UPP, paint sealant

I have not used liquid glass for over 20 years. And I don't remember if I liked it or not.

If you like protection, menzerna power lock is hard to beat but it's not as glossy as other sealants.

Liquid Glass is easy to work with. I have also had great success with Rejex which is now my go-to product.

That's a really gorgeous car you have.

Like Vegas 911, I probably haven't used Liquid Glass in 20 years or more, but do remember not being very impressed with it at the time.
Would usually chuckle when I'd see it on autozone's shelves in more recent times, and would think "nope, I'm not buying you again".

I have used both Menzerna Powerlock, and WGDGPS 3.0. Just recently gotten the Powerlock, and did a coat just a few days ago on the Kia Spectra Beater I have.

Both are usually spoken of in the same sentence here, and while both are totally exceptional products and have similarities, I think there are some minor differences in look, and feel.

Both produce a very high dripping wet candy like look yet with great depth and clarity to the finish. Both go on looking great, and look even better after some cure time.

Usually the WG products have a nice smell, whereas Powerlock has a strong solvent like chemical smell. WGDGPS is light yellow in color, and Powerlock leans towards a more light lime greenish cast, almost like a lime pudding-yogurt.

Both are super easy to apply-remove. And both go very far in regards to spreadability.

After I applied Powerlock, an hour later a cold front came through with high winds and mucho dust. The Powerlock seemed more prone to attracting dust IMO, but that could've been due to other factors such as relative humidity, and what type of dusts. (here we can get two types of dusts, the ruddy brown soil, and sometimes white, which is Gypsum since I live about 4 miles east of the largest Gypsum Dune Field on earth, White Sands National Monument, and Missle Range)

I have no test data to back that claim that powerlock attracts more dust, I'm not much of a testing type guy.

I give the nod to Powerlock as feeling ever so slightly slicker in feel, but both are truly knock your socks off wow products and worth the money IMO.

I think I overdid it, and bought a qt of powerlock, and that is a whole lot of product! A pint should last quite a while, unless you do many cars.

I've never used Klasse to comment. I've used some of the Duragloss products and these seemed thin-sterile in appearance compared to either WG or Menzerna PL. Mark

My vote has to go to Wolfgang Deep Gloss Paint Sealant. I think it is on sale right now also. Blackfire Wet Diamond Paint Sealant and Meguiar's M21 are two more tried and true synthetic LSP's. WDGPS is a joy to use and looks outstanding! A 16 oz. bottle will last a lifetime.

Both the WG and Menz PL are easy to maintain. Many like topping with a Nuba after, similar to like the Blackfire "Fire over Ice" method, but for sure, they both look absolutely awesome all on their own, and after a wash, a simple wipe down with a good Detailing Spray, such as Pinnacle Crystal Mist, or WG Spritz Detailer is about all that is needed to maintain the finish, and the look.

I know the WGDGPS 3.0 does play well being topped with a WOWA sealant product like WG Deep Gloss Liquid Seal, and would suspect the Menzerna PL to be no different in that regard. These WOWA's are IMO just as easy to use as a Spray Detailer, and offer better protection. Mark

You can't go wrong with either Klasse or WGDPS,
there is also 4Star upp thats is great to use and leaves a very slick coating. :xyxthumbs:

I have both Klasse and WGDGPS, and I vote WG any day over KAIO. Insanely easy to apply and remove and like others have said, a 16oz bottle will last you almost forever!
The look it gives is much glossier than KAIO imo, and extremely slick! Only downside I could see being for someone is the 12hr cure time. Not a big deal for me at all but other than that, WGDGPS is a fantastic product!

My go to sealants are usually Blackfire All Finish Paint Protection and Wolfgang Deep Gloss Paint Sealant 3.0.
Neither one of these has ever let me down in Term of looks and durability and they are very easy to use.

I also have Klasse and Wolfgang, and the WG has the edge on durability and shine IMO. Im always amazed after I give cars that have been sealed with WGDGPS a wash and they come out looking like it was freshly applied.

I like the bfwd, its slicker and i like the look better then the Wolfgang Deep Gloss Paint Sealant 3.0.

I agree, BFWD is just a bit better than Wolfgang 3.0. Klasse is great as a base but it looks rather plastic like without anything on top.

Well then, you are certainly in the right place! ;) Fanatic's are everywhere you look around here.

The problem with sealants as I see it..... Just too darned MANY! There's the sealant/glaze (old school type) that you'd want to use a machine to apply. Then there's the
WOWO crowd WG, BF, Menz, Megs all make excellent ones there. I tend to like this type for some strange reason, likely because with the whole idea of letting it 'haze' before wiping off it (feels to me as if it) has with a better bond. :dunno:

Then of course there are the WOWA ones from WG, BF, Menz that are very popular around here (rightly so). And even Megs makes one, M135 that nobody ever talks about! Although it seems on the face of it to be one in the same (or at least very close) to all the rest. I don't have a gallon (this week) but I will very soon! ;)
