I'm going to be using Ultimate Compound on an older Neon and have some Blackfire Total Polish and Seal as well as Gloss Enhancing Polish, will those be strong enough to clean up any leftovers from the compound? If not, what would you recommend as a next best option? This car has never seen wax and is my brothers commuter car so going to give compounding a shot to clean up the paint a bit. I'll be using a PC 7424XP for the work on the car.

Thanks in advance!

Megs UC leaves a pretty decent finish to it depending on the pad you used.. If anything, get some M205 to remove any light swirl.

Use the Blackfire Total Polish and Seal with a polishing pad, this should be more than aggressive Eng to remove any DA Haze also called micro-marring or Tick Marks left by the UC, (if any), and seal the paint at the same time.

Like NFA stated UC always leaves me with a good finish when used with a orange ccs pad. Just follow up with any light polish such as Ultimate Polish or M205. If using ultimate polish remember to wipe or wash away all the oils left behind to see the true condition of the paint.

Mike i just read that artice on the neon and was very surprised that AG sold Dodo Supernatural on a stick!

I don't have any other polish than the Total Seal and Polish and Gloss Enhancing Polish so figured if I needed something a little stronger, than I would need to order it soon so I can have it for mid next week to polish out the compound. If the Total Seal and Polish will work, then I'd love to stick with that but I don't want to do this half heartedly so if I need something stronger, I'd pick it up. Thanks for all of the information above!

I'm sorry, should have said the pads I have. I have the 5.5 inch 1 1/8" hydrotech pads. I have two tangerine, two cyan and two crimson. I also have the 4" starter kit. My plan was to compound, seal and then for an LSP use Collinite 845. I have plenty of wax options, however lack in the Polish department for now.

Meguiars 205 will do the job... Maybe an extra pass of Menzerna SF4500 to make it perfect, but that's optional.

Uc then TPnS , nothing more needed to correct
Wax or seal and then done....

Thanks Glen, that will be the route I'll be taking then!

The griots one step sealant provides a nice finish after UC. It has very light abrasives to remove any marring. I use it with a gray pad after UC and always get good results.
