What have you guy's found as a good polish to use before waxing or doing a general paint clean up when needed. I have been using 3M Finesse-it which does a good job, just looking to see if there is something else to try that may be better. For this I just need minimal cutting nothing to abrasive but leave a good shine and ready to wax.

XMT 360 and Poorboy's Polish with Sealant. They both have good cleaning ability and a very fine abrasive that finishes beautifully on everything I've tried them on and I feel that it leaves an excellent base for applying your LSP.

If you don't want any abrasive, both Pinnacle Paint work Cleansing lotion and Wolfgang's Pre-Wax Polish Enhancer have great cleaning ability. Both removed the severe oxidation (the test spots I did are shown below) by hand without too much effort, and leave the surface ready for LSP. I'm a big fan of Klasse AIO as well.

Products mentioned-
Poorboys World Polish with Sealant
XMT 360 corrects, cleans, and seals auto paint! It's BOGO right now, I suggest buying 2 so you have 4 bottles...
Wolfgang Pre-Wax Polish Enhancer
Pinnacle Paintwork Cleansing Lotion
Klasse AIO

Pinnacle on left Wolfgang on right. I'm sure your car is not bad like this, but it makes the point that they actually work.

Menzerna 085rd ... super finishing and jeweling polish indeed.

P21S Paintwork Cleanser and it's equivalent S100 Shine-Enhancing Cleanser (somewhat cheaper) are excellent cleaner and leave a nice slick surface.

What pad do you recommend for 85rd?

I prefer the grey flat pads ... I do however wanna try next with a Hydro-tech pad, they seem to offer alot of nice results.

Meguiar's M205 & white pad
Menzerna PO85RD & gray pad
Wolfgang Paintwork Polish Enhancer & gray pad

Klasse AIO is another great product that cleans / polishes, leaving a long lasting protective coating.

I would think that Megs' M205 would work very well for your purposes. I have been using it on my soft Honda paint, and it finishes down beautifully. And because of its SMAT technology, you don't have to worry about breaking down the abrasives. You can stop polishing, if you want, after only one or two passes.

Thanks for the replies and suggestions guy's. Looks like the polish is on hold right now as I just found the dash in my 99 Dodge truck cracked in two places, a common occurence for 2nd gen dodge trucks (cheap plastic). Aftermarket replacement $320.00. That's a chunk of detailing supplies. Thanks again.
