I wanted to know what you guys think are the best products for professional detailers (not just for your car) That allow you to get as much profit possible. I find that issue especially with my tire shine I go through it like crazy.

Suggestions for products and how much use do you get out of it.

  • Car wash soap
  • waterless wash
  • wheel cleaner
  • All Purpose cleaner
  • tire shine
  • interior protectant/dressing
  • wax
Thanks Guys

  • Car wash soap
megs shampoo plus

  • waterless wash
optimum no rinse.

  • wheel cleaner
i use OPC diluted 5-1 or 6-1

  • All Purpose cleaner
OPC 5-1 for panels and dash, megs APC + diluted 10-1 for interior fabric like carpet

  • tire shine
megs all season dressing

  • interior protectant/dressing
megs water based dressing (coconut scent), or megs M40 (leather, its also a interior cleaner, good for one step interior cleaning)

  • wax
well, i use sealant primarily. but wax i use megs # 26 yellow carnauba, and poliseal sealant, poliseal is great because it has abrasives in it, so you can take out a scratch/scuff here and there while waxing to make the client happy.

remember to check out the Special Values section as Autogeek sells alot of the best lines in larger sizes for professional and at a better cost too.

Soap. Megs Gold Class Gallon size
Waterless.ONR (can also mix as quick detailer)
Wheel cleaner.I would keep two on hand one strong(Megs detailer line) and one mild for chrome,painted or polished wheels (P21S)
A.P.C Megs A.P.C+
Tire shine.Megs Hyper dressing
Interior. 1Z cockpit premium. Cleans and leaves a mat finish behind and I am sorry but I have not found its equal.
Leather. Optimum
Wax. Megs 26, Poorboys polish with nuba blue, FinishKare pink or 1000p

This is what I would use if I had to stick to your request.

how do you use Meguiars Hyper Dressing for tires ..dilution ratio and application

Yes I use it for tires. It has many possibe dilution ratios listed right on the bottle(gloss,matte etc) and a gallon seems to last forever.

If your in NH you might want to look at a company in mass called car products. There in holyoke I don't think I'm allowed to post a link. Just do a Google search. They are a chemical manufacturer. I buy all my chemicals from them. Great quality you can dilute everything except tire shine. I still need to order my onr from auto geek because car products dose not make a rinse-less product.

I bought a quart last year. Unless you're detailing cars everyday of the week a quart will last you forever. I used it last year for the first time on tires. I like it. I've also used it on the interior and like it there as well. It's water-based, so I wouldn't put it up against something like Ultima Tire and Trim Guard (which is awesome and lasts forever.) becuase to me that would be an apples-n-oranges comparison. Meg's HD has a pleasant smell too.

Ultima waterless wash is 20$ for concentrate that makes almost 6 gallons!!! That fills the 22 oz. Spray bottle many many many times. You should never buy a detail spray again as this will also replace detail sprays.

CarPro PERL is another concentrate product that you can dilute at different concentrations for different tasks. Interiors, engine bays, trim, tires, etc...

If you really do the math, use products you like and not the cost effective products.......in the end, you will only save a few dollars on the cheaper stuff per detail. Just charge an extra $5 per detail to cover using products you like and work for you! ;).

If you want the biggest bang for the buck... this is my list based on a lot of analysis:

- Car Wash --> Duragloss Car Wash Concentrate - 1gal ($0.28 per wash @ 4gal per)
- Waterless Wash --> Optimum No Rinse - 1gal ($0.31 per wash @ 2gal per)
- APC --> Megs APC+ 1gal
- Wheel Cleaner --> APC @ 4:1 [ water:product ]
- Interior Panels (clean) --> APC @ 5:1 to 7:1
- Interior Panels (protect) --> CarPro PERL @ 5:1
- Interior Fabric --> APC @ 10:1
- Tire Shine --> CarPro PERL @ 1:1 ($0.37 per oz) or 2:1 ($0.25 per oz)
- Wax --> Collinite 845 or OCW

As already illustrated, PERL can be used in other areas as well.

Well said Doc!! Also, good products save time and add value.
