Oh ShMITT, I give mine away! Thanks for the input. So don't use 8" pads, and go with 6.5"?

I think the 6.5 works so much better and are easier to use.

I use the Megs 6" pads. 7006, 8006 and 9006 on both my rotary and PC (Used Autoglym also, but i didnt like those), but im buying the edge pack to the PC

Go with the edge 6.5" pads. Interchangeable and work great on both. Go for the waved version.

You can used both the 6 and 8 inch pads with the EDGE rotary adapter. I'm getting the 8s for larger areas and I will use my existing 6 inch pads for hard areas. I know of alot of guys that use the 6s for the whole vehicle and some use only the 8s. The 8s will cover more area quickly though. Aaron from EDGE told me that I can cut my work in half and make it look better by switching to a rotary. But be warned. You have to master the PC totally and then test on a panel with the rotary.

I will be recieving the waffles. They are the best to reduce heat and splatter.

Man I can't wait!!!

careful... 8" is pretty big. seems like you would loose some power on those.

i dont think losing power is much of a concern with a rotary, especially with waffles anyways.but what would be safer the 6 or the 8?

Ive heard 6.5" pads for best control and great results. I will have to contact Aaron soon to discuss this.

Just came out of the garage after i had to do paint correction on my wifys Volvo, had a dint in the hood, i had sanded, painted and sanded again. have waited 3 weeks before i would touch it with anything (exept washing) had some sanded areas (2000 grit) i had to correct and therfore i had to use the rotary, i tryed with "Cyclo" and medium pads and MG #82 first, no good, after that i used the rotary and 8000 pad with MG #85, this gave some bether result, but not good enough, Switchd to 7000 pad and MG #85, boy oh boy, this is serious cutting power, the sanded area was gone in some sec and only my sh¤¤y painting skills was left.. But sanding marks.........gone:D . Went to the 8000 pads again (new one) and polished the area with the MG #82, and it was good as new (exept painting skill bla bla bla) puting on some MG #21 and im done. Ill see if i can take some pics, but my camera just had a tripp to the floor :( and looks kinda
shabby.

Its alive....

Never mind the painting, the whole hood is getting a new coat of paint.

But this is Sparkies post regarding pads, and this is geting kinda OT,

Back to pads again, i do have the megs, but i may think that the waffler/wave is a good choice, the "flat" pads can sometimes try to travle away from where they should be, and the waffler/wave seems to be a litle more steady to use.

And start with the 6.5 pads, i have not tryed the large ones but the 6.5 pads looks easyer to handle

I use the 8" edge pads on the Hitachi and have no trouble controlling the machine. But, I only use the rotary on large, flat areas when really needed. So, I don't currently have a need to get into tighter areas. If I begin using the rotary more often, and in tighter areas, I'll probably just put a backing plate on it and use my existing smaller LC, Propel & Sonus pads that I'm using for the PC. I just don't want to go with the edge 2000 pads right now for my PC as I have so many perfectly good velcro pads.
