I am looking for a new wax for the family race car :) It is a 2002 Trans Am WS6 in Sunset Orange Metallic:

Paint is in good shape. My long term intention is to go to a machine polish / sealant combo, but I don't have the funds for all the equipment right now. The current budget is going toward making it faster, since it's already pretty :coolgleam:

I'm looking for a wax that can be hand applied, and will compliment the orange color. I'm also in FL, so no harsh winters, but high heat and humidity are part of everyday life.

I found an old thread where Collinite 845 was suggested, but since it's several years old, I thought I would see if there is anything new that would work out better.

Thanks!

I second that!!!

Of course, the most important part of making paint look good is the prep, polishing, claying, decontaminating, but thats a heck of a wax.

Keep in mind that wax has no cleaners in it, so I would still recommend at the minimum using a clay bar or clay alternative, plus IronX before applying the wax. If you want also try a dedicated paint cleaner before waxing, there are many that can be used by hand such as:

Wolfgang Pre-Wax Polish Enhancer is absolutely fabulous for producing that elusive, show-ready wet-shine look. This polish actually enhances and

No tools needed. These products wont remove any swirls or defects, but at least they will get the paint perfectly clean to be protected.

Looks good! I ended up pulling the trigger on the Fuzion special (plus some other goodies to hit the $150 special... addiction much? lol), but I might give that one a shot in the future.

I appreciate all the feedback!

The best wax for metallics is a sealant.
I second FK1KP

I suggest that before you apply your wax that you give it a good wash and clay for sure. You can hand apply a polish and although not as effective as using a machine you should be able to get "something" out of it. Prep is the key. It sounds like you got yourself a good wax there, looking forward to the pics, love that color for sure :props:

One more vote for Fuzion, this is on top of WG 3.0

It doesn't get much wetter looking than this.
