Best way to apply sonax high speed wax

Looking for suggestions on best way to apply sonax hsw. I do not want to use this as a drying aid due to my water being very hard and no shade. It says spread product with a damp applicator does that mean damp with product or spray the applicator with distilled water first?

Yes. A lightly soaked applicator pad or microfiber towel, wrung out so it’s not dripping.

Apply product onto applicator or surface of vehicle and wipe as directed.
It’s a common application process for polymer sealants to prevent streaking.
Follow up with a dry microfiber towel.
