Noticed that the edges of my clear film were standing out a bit much the other day when I was walking around the car. The hood bra looks ok but the edges on the film at the base of the flares in front of my rear wheels looked like there was some white film buildup there. I took my finger nail and lightly traced around the edging and by varying the angle, I could get some of it off.

Do you think a soft bristle brush and OPC would work or should I use something like mineral spirits the next time I detail those areas? I think I'll get some really thin tape and tape the edges whenever I polish or use paint cleaners from now on to prevent this (as Mike calls it, lifetime of ugly) from happening in the future...

I've used a soft brush and IPA when cleaning up after polishing. This seems to break up the residue pretty well.

Use an old credit card wrapped in a microfiber with some car wash or APC and just run the card along the edge - this should take care of it.

Yes. Do it during your next wash

I just spray some APC on a MF towel and run it back and forth over the film...works for me.

-Either one of these detail-sprays used with a soft MF towel.
-Try soaking some Q-Tips, with either one of them, and gently wipe the affected areas with them. Remove any residue with MF towels.
-Neither product will leave any white, chalky residue.
