i always inspect all my microfiber towels before they touch my paint...usually pick out a piece of leaf or wood every now and again...its a good habit to have so that one piece of grit doesnt get swirled all over your paint...DanGB said:Like many other aspects of car care, I have sometimes learned the hard way. Early on I washed some MF towels and there were apparently bits of an old steel wool pad in the dryer. Not a good idea. Took hours to get those scratches out. They only thing that really did it was wrecking my car and getting a new hood but I don't recommend that approach.
This may be a bit compulsive (I suspect I'm amongst friends in that) but now, after washing in the MF detergent and drying on tumble, I check each towel and remove any extraneous material or fibers with jeweler's forceps.
Live and learn.
Yep - it's so true - check each one as you fold it.orngez said:i always inspect all my microfiber towels before they touch my paint...usually pick out a piece of leaf or wood every now and again...its a good habit to have so that one piece of grit doesnt get swirled all over your paint...
