I bough this truck over the winter with these awesome (sarcasm) pinstripes. I haven't tried much yet, I did try some oven cleaner and that did take some of it off, but I kinda worry that I can get carried away with that and mess up the paint.

I was thinking about maybe a cyan foam pad and something like meguiars scratch x 2.0 of another finishing compound. The paint is kinda hazy anyway and found probably use more than cleaner / sealer.

Anyone have any ideas?

Just realized I forgot pictures

i dont think the eraser wheel will work on painted stripes. are the cleared in or on top of the clear?

Greg from Chemical Guys has a video on Youtube where he removed a painted stripe off a 5 series. He posished it out. Took a little while but he did it.

I've always used easy off brand oven cleaner and it has to be the original. The lemon scent or other scents don't work well. I've taken fully painted by hand truck caps with company logos. I sprayed with easy off and let it soak then it all wiped off in one shot. I'd just keep using oven cleaner if they are painted on and just polish the area after.

Thanks, I'll have to look that up
Thank you, I'll try this first

What polish do you recommend?

I personally now use menzerna fg400 and pf2500 to start typically. But just try what you have already. It shouldn't take too much pending how long they have been on there.

so I tried the denatured alcohol, no luck

I took some medium cut compound i had laying around and a small buffing wheel on my dremel, that worked.

So i guess i need to get a aggressive foam pad for my DA and go at it

Making progress

Using oven cleaner to get most of it off, then chemical guys v34 and an orange pad on my DA

Shaving the badges while I'm at it

I used to use foaming oven cleaner, if its not cleared over. Just don't let it dry on & you may need to keep going over it. You'll notice that some colors will come off quick & some will take a lot more. You may need to wet sand & polish after you are done.
