Hey there everyone, I have done plenty of research on this topic, and the consensus is that most people love using their Mothers Wheel Brush on the face of the rim. I too use the Mothers brush, and LOVE it! But I was wondering if there were any better brushes in terms of quality and safeness? I saw a Boar's Hair Brush going for about $40 on AG, and was wondering if that was the 5 Star of brushes?

Thanks!

I actually got my brushes from different vendors. the one on AG i feel are too expensive for just brushes.

This is the best brush no doubt - I have the small handle one and the 10" one. Mine has been tortured and used frequently and looks brand new. One important point though: this brush is very "soft". If your working on neglected wheels, it may not provide the friction to remove embedded dirt.

Thanks Swanic! My only concern about this brush is the wooden part of the brush. On the Mothers brush, the tip of the brush has rubber, so in case you bang the brush onto the rim face, it won't damage...however from the looks of it, the Boar's Hair Brush is merely wood, so I would assume you would have to be a lot more careful, as it "might" do damage??

The boars hair handle is plastic I believe. I bought one for a few dollars cheaper from another site, it's boars hair, identical to the Montana brand. I've ALWAYS used a car wash mitt and car wash shampoo to clean my wheels. I figured I'd give this brush a try. It's super soft, paired with a quality wheel cleaner like sonax, it kills. The brush is super soft, so like was said, if you have neglected wheels this brush isn't for you. Awesome brush though.

Mine is plastic as well, not wood. You don't have to be anymore careful than any other brush.

Consider this: most wheels are clear coated / powder coated / painted - just like your hood. Would you touch your hood with synthetic / plastic / nylon bristles ???

Here is some brush porn:

Hey Swanic and thanks for your detailed response! I was wondering, are the Mothers Wheel Brush bristles made of plastic bristles??
