this detail was to remove the swirls & most of the deep scratches in 2 steps. the Evo 8 MR is going in for major surgery in the winter so this is just to get through the rest of the summer & the fall.
the sides & hood were in great shape. the roof & trunk were the only areas that needed a little extra love. i decided to put the car under the halogens & work the paint out for a little bit more time than if i was just working under the shop fluorescents. i made sure all the swirls were removed with just a few deep scratches here & there that remain. you really cant see them because of the color & the new glow the paint has now.

an outline for my work:

Makita 9227 c rotary
roof & trunk =
orange pads + Meguiars M105 Compound
everything else =
green pads + Meguiars M105 Compound
blue pads + Menzerna SF4000 Polish

Protection = 2 layers of Prima Epic Sealant

wheels = washed, clayed + Collinite 73SS Super Saphire Cleaner Wax
tires = Adrex Outrageous
exhaust can = #0000 steel wool + Ardex Pure Metal
head & tail lights = clayed, Makita + orange + M105 + blue + SF4000 + Epic
rain guards = clayed, makita + green + M105 + blue + SF4000 + Epic
glass = clayed

Great work and I love the car! I could do without the park bench on the back though lol

The 3rd photo after the video (tilted grille shot) is an awesome photo. It definitely highlights some of the muscular body lines that some of these newer EVO's have (with assistance of the Voltex kit, of course)... Either way, VERY COOL!

Very nice!

My favorite pic is the one with the sign saying no cameras allowed, lol.
thanks! lol the more signs saying were not supposed to be there...the better! i have to scope out some new spots though! :props:

Looks good!
thank you

Is that a kwazar spray bottle you are using? How do you like them?

yes sir, mercury pro. they are the best bottles ive ever used. def worth the $ & they just work awsome.
ill try to explain how they work...

reg spray top = as you squeeze it sprays. nothing on the release.
kwazar top = as you squeeze it sprays, on the release it sprays again.

Looking very glossy, nice shots as well.
thank you

well threes a new one. thanks! :xyxthumbs:

Loved EVO's and that paint came out great, love that hood especially, can't say I've ever seen one like that before! Not a big fan of the "picnic table" on the back but it may be functional on that car and certainly after its surgery because surgery on those type of cars almost always result in MOAR POWR!!!

The gloss on that thing is insane. Are the mirrors tucked in for a reason?

Sweet car, sweet photography! Great job making that thing look like it should!

How many hours did this take to complete? A friend and I are looking at doing his evo 9, and we're wanting a ball park figure :)

Great JOB!
