I am sure some of you got the email from Big Boi as well (if your subbed on their site), they have their current pressure washer but are about to release their 'pro' version. Italian design, looks more like an AR Blue setup vs their regular pressure washer that has the classic 'Sunjoe/Ryobi/etc standup look.
I currently have a pressure washer, so no bearing on me. But it is still nice to see another option drop on the market for pressure washers, especially for ones geared directly towards the detail hobby.

I have begun research for a replacement PW and this is helpful

I also just watched a video on the new updated Active unit and it looks promising

Apparently they corrected some of the faults/shortcomings of the original version

I have months to go before I actually purchase anything so I will be actively watching any threads like this

Thanks for the heads up!

I'm curious for the sake of being curious about this offering. I know some people don't want to spend as much $ for a Kranzle or AR and many go SunJoe etc. I wonder if this will come in as the Goldilocks balancing price/value/performance.?? Starting from scratch and watching everyone else's product while developing your own gives alot of room to make yours full of pros vs cons. Be interesting to see what this is like when it drops.

I went and looked at it and my gut reaction was I hate stand up type pressure washers after having had several over the years

I have yet to own or use one that didn't tip over at the wrong time

I loved the Greenworks 2300 I had in Hawaii except for the annoying delay in spooling up to pressure but I watched a review recently where they reached out to Greenworks about that very issue and supposedly the feature was added on purpose to avoid a big spike and constant tripping of 15 amp breakers

Not sure if that is an explanation or an excuse

It certainly had the pressure and the flow and made amazing snow foam

I cussed the spool up issue and told people to avoid it; however, at the price point it is pretty awesome if pressure and flow are your benchmarks

:dunno:

I honestly would buy it again, maybe...

We will see what my research reveals

That isn't the one, thats their pressure washer they had for a few years. This is a new one, got an email today from them. As of now it's so new it's 'pre order'. It has the look of an AR Blue.

It actually is on their site now, 'pro' model. Lists at $949, while their other washer is $389.

Ahhhh

I didn’t look far enough

Are those prices US dollars?

I ask because the annoying little pop ups in the corner are all saying “John Smith from XYZ Australia just bought blah blah blah”

All of them say Australia

I think it may be US$. Carzilla sells the $389 washer for $433CND.

What all did they update? Was it mostly the switch folks were having trouble with, or was there other stuff too?

The active unit has my curiosity for sure. Debating between it and a cart style AR (I think it's the maxx 2300?).

Wonder if the Big Boi will require a 20a breaker like the AR630? (assuming so since like mentioned it sure looks similar...)

I’m not familiar enough with the issues people were having with the older model

When I was looking for a machine I saw all the people raving about the old one and I immediately checked into it

I literally had to have learned about it just days before they were simply gone

Whether they were simply all sold or pulled off the shelves or a combination of these factors I do not know

They just disappeared off my radar

This is the first I’ve heard about them since then

The switch was updated for sure

The casing is entirely different

This guy talks a bit too fast for me but the other reviews are on OG and I will not watch them

Your mileage may vary

I am interested in them as well

…and many go SunJoe etc.
Except for the PITA fittings on the model I stupidly chose (SPX3001) my $130 SunJoe was great for 4 years; never drained it or put away in Winter either, hoping it would die so I could upgrade to ‘normal fittings’ model.

Alas, finally got my wish when it didn’t answer the call this Spring after sitting in storage all year. Be careful what ya wish for I guess

Looks a lot like this one. Can get for a couple hundred cheaper. Rated at 2000psi and 1.7 gpm.

Will upgrade to this or a Comet when ryobi kaputz’s.

Don’t think I need a Kranzle but something nicer than the base ones. Plus I think A&R up there with Kranzle.

I believe the price on their site is AUS so should be a little cheaper here.

Does look similar but the unloader and inlet/outlet are on the opposite side.

So many good options out there for us these days.

I've got the Active v1, not bad for a hobbyist.

Both the Big Boi and Active v2 look really interesting.
Nice to have so many choices

Yeah but if inlet/outlet are flipped also. Inlet on top of BB and it’s on bottom of AR. Looks like they just flipped it.

Big boi doesn’t make their other basic PW as I found generics on Amazon when it launched.

Thinking AR made this one.

The gpm/psi rating is higher on BB tho….

If they had flipped the pump, then the unloader valve would be pointing to the ground and on the left side. And both depict an inlet on the bottom, outlet on the top.

I have no doubt that this machine is made by someone else, and it does have some AR like layout influences.
