Big problem help!!

Hey guys this is my first time asking and being in real need of help/feedback.. ok im doing this truck for a friend of mine he picked it up last week for plowing this winter anyway he asked me to go through it and that it needed some "TLC" yeah well he drops it off at first look its like ok it definitely needs heavy work but not to bad? Love a challenge ;-) Then I go to wash it man let's just say its WAY worse than what I thought its like everything wrapped in one tar,sap,b-shizz etching's and Idk what all over!! Alright sorry for babbling the real problem is the hood on this thing its cracking ill try to put up the pics but its like anything I've tried actually makes it worst comp/polish gets in the cracks and highlights them what can I do better yet what have you guys done?? This might be one of those cases that you decline the job and move on with life. Maybe Mike or someone can chime in with some paint saving advice though.

Crow's feet = No bueno.

Only a repaint will fix that. All you'll end up doing is shove compounds/polishes into the cracks and make them more visible. Stop while you still can.

Yea its about a lil over a 12 x 12 test area that turned white :doh: I think im gonna dust off and try some Megs dc1&2 the dc1 has gotta clean up at least some of the "stuff" and the dc2 should fill and darken it up I hope??

No advice here, but for future reference, vehicles in this shape benefit from a car soap with wax, or shine enhancing properties. From 10 feet away, it would be blinging.
