This kinda a show off thread and a review .
I decided in order to do a proper detail on my new Harley I needed to buy a bike lift that could handle the 800 plus pounds on my new bike . As many of you know when it comes to buying something for myself it takes me forever to make a decision . So the hunt was on and I decided on J&S Jacks .

A couple of things I liked about this company was the lift is made in the USA

It can lift up too 2000 Lb

It's made like a small tank , The wheels even have grease fittings

Sure you can go to Harbor Freight or even Sears and buy one that's half the price but would you trust you customers 25k bike on something the looks and feels flimsy I know I wouldn't .

If you go too there web site they even have a video of them wheeling around a bike with a guy sitting on the front fender that's impressive .

I won't post the video or even the web site so people don't think I'm working for J&S just do a Google search and it comes right up

Ok here's some pictures first one is how well they pack the lift in the box I think they put the lift in the box and use spray foam around the lift to keep in place during transport the lift weighs 80 LBS

I think this lift is well worth the price i paid and if anyone is considering doing any Motor Cycle details this is a great investment . Thanks for looking

Looks like a very solid piece of equipment Adam! I'm glad you were able to pick one out finally! :) Thanks for sharing with us!

Cool! If you're gonna have an 800+ lb barge you've got to be able to get it off the ground. I went the cheapie route and ended up spending the bucks for a quality lift in the end. Might as well do it right the first time! :xyxthumbs:

Best part of the Limited, other than the 103, is the chrome wheels. Whoever designed those 28 spoke jobs in polished aluminum is a total sadist! Real knucklebusters... I picked up a set of takeoff chromes off a Limited and stuck 'em on the Ultra and have been a happy camper ever since. Im the MAN

Heh... wait'll you see the dealer's price on one of those fat rear tires!

how does the bike stay without wobbling too much? just doesnt look sturdy.

i know with my sport bike i use a rear and front stand. always wondered how these stands work....

Ive seen one at Harbor Freight .. cool but then I would need to buy a bike to go with it.

With a heavy dresser you don't get too much movement if you keep it low and don't get too vigorous. For washing/detailing I barely get the weight off the wheels just enough so I can turn 'em.

For maintenance or getting it high enough to get a rear wheel off from under the fender you've gotta strap it down. Most lifts have tie down points but then you have to work around slack issues as well as straps being in the way when adjusting the height. Many thread a tie down strap between the jugs and snug it down tight against the lift. If you need to raise it high you better have a wide-footprint lift!

makes sense. thanks for sharing. was almost ready to get ragged for asking. of course this forum and its members are top notch and have respect for co-detailers, unlike many forums out there(detailing forums and other forums alike).

have a good weekend!

Very Nice!!! If I ever start doing this full time, that would def be something to look in to. What's up with the carpet? LOL!!

It is the first time I've seen go outside the box with rims . Next month plan on doing a review using OC on the bike at that i will take some close up shots of the rims

I would never rag on a person asking any type of question no matter what is asked. Thanks for all the nice comments .

I'll be waiting for that review! The swirls in the Vivid Black drive me nuts. Other colors I've encountered aren't nearly as soft. I'm considering some kind of coating to try and toughen it up but haven't decided on A Quartz, CQuartz, OC or System X.

Maybe just a ratllecan of bedliner black....
