Hello Mike,

I had a bird poo on my car the other day at work.
I should have removed it as soon as I noticed it, but I did not.
So, after washing it off, you can still see where it was in the clear coat.
I tried buffing it out with wax, but you can still see it.
So, then I washed that off and tried some Meguiars Scratch X 2.0 and it helped but I can still see it.

I am really a noob to car detailing and dont want to cause more harm than good.
Do you recommend something that I can use to get rid of it?
I was thinking about trying Meguiars Ultimate Compound but I am afraid of causing damage to my car.

Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

Thank you

You shouldn't of buffed it off with wax. Wax is a protectant.

I would try using the Mequiars Ultimate Compound with an orange pad.

Do you have any pictures?

Yeah, I was thinking the same thing after the fact :(

I dont think a picture will turn out real well, as you have to look at a certain angle to see the damage.
I will see what I can do.

Thank you for responding.

I had the same prob and was able to fix it using M105 followed by M205

Hello,

Ok, I read the link posted by BobbyG.
Mikes article shows the two different types of etching left from bird poo.
I have Type I Bird Dropping - Topical Stain Etching.
After reading the post, it sounds like I need to get a compound to try to get them out.
I was thinking of picking up some Meguiars UC and starting with a very small area and seeing what happens.
Doggone birds, why do they have to poo on my car?

I would try the UC with a MF applicator. It would be REALLY hard for you to really damage your car. Here is the best place to learn! :buffing: :welcome:
