I have used Finish Kare hi temp paste wax before but i want a brilliant shine. What are y'all using was or sealant wise?

I would coat both with CQuartz 3.0 or if you prefer a sealant, I would recommend Black Fire paint sealant.

Not sure i trust myself doing a ceramic coating. Iv already put down 2 coats of Jet Seal, but i hear its doesnt last long, so I want to layer on some more protection. Have you used Black Fire? how did you like it? Any pics?

How do i get this thread moved? I started it in the wrong section

There are some very user friendly coatings. Sealants I like Ultima Paint Guard Plus. WOWA product, great durability, looks, easy to keep clean.

Lose that fear. Today's coatings are light years ahead of what they were like to apply even just 2-3 years ago. 22Ple, Cquartz and Gyeon are among some of the most friendly to use. I'm a Gyeon fan-boy now so I will say until I get my bottle of CQUK 3.0 to see how it is durring application, Gyeon has nailed their carrier solvents in terms of ease of use. No worries about gabbiness at all nor fear of high spots as it is very forgiving at wipe away time frame. IMO Gyeon Mohs is as easy to use as their CanCoat product. The latter is super easy and fast to apply too. I have it on my Q50 now and love it. Outside it lasting only 6+ months according to them, it's hydrophobic properties are insane and the gloss is very good.

The new CQuartz UK 3.0 is much easier to use than the prior version. I just used it last weekend.

If you want really easy the McKee’s 37 Coating is probably the easiest to apply. It looks great too! If you get some Hydro Blue you can use that periodically during the year to extend the protection & maintain an awesome gloss.

There is no reason to be weary of applying a coating. One like the McKee’s 37 is hard to screwup. If you can apply a Sealant, you can apply Mckee’s 37 Coating.

Paint Coating, nano paint sealant, ceramic paint coating, nano paint coating

Since FK1000P “Hi-Temp” as the LSP
isn’t quite cutting-the-mustard for you
in the 100°+ Summer heat; then:

I’ll suggest another “hot-environment”
LSP that will, IMO, impart a shine that’ll
more than please you:
•Collinite Insulator Wax (#845)—a Wax
that was originally formulated for use by
electric power companies to protect/insulate
electrical components against high-voltage
power failures, fires, and explosions.

•Ought to be more than adequate for
temperatures of 100°+...

Not sure I believe the insulator story. That sounds far-fetched. Getting the first coat prior to installation is easy but could you imagine trying to wax these insulators with 500KV+ in those transmission lines?

Disclaimer: I really like Collinite.

Thank you all for your feedback.

Is this the one you’re talking about? McKee's 37 MK37-260 Paint Coating (Sio2 Enhanced New Formula)

Do I layer it on top of the sealer or do I have to strip all that off??

I'm a McKee's 37 fan but honestly their coating is IMO no longer the easiest and most forgiving to apply. I think the carrier solvents in some of the others make them easier. To me McKee's v2 is ike Gyeon Prime in that it is a thicker one-layer coating but is a bit more of a pain to remove. It will be interesting to see if UK3.0 "flashes" and wipes more cleanly in 1-2 swipes vs McKee's that can take several to wipes to ensure it wipes totally clean.

Yes. The New v2 is HERE

You can NOT layer it over a sealant. It must be on bare paint thus either a regular polish and then an IPA/Eraser style wipe down to remove any trace oils from the polish or the McKee's coating prep.

I've used Mckee's 37 paint coating V1 and V2 and Cquartz UK 3.0. The Mckee's is pretty hard to apply in the heat, it flashes extremely fast and is hard to remove, even wiping instantly it left cloudy high spots all over. But, the Mckee's is far Slicker than CQUK 3.0. Cquk 3.0 however is much easier to apply in the heat, can work about a minute or 2 and it's still easy to remove. It worked very well In the south Louisiana heat and humidity. I have 2 black vehicles currently that are coated. The BRZ has CQUK 3.0 and the truck has Mckee's 37 V2.

For a black vehicle in a hot environment, CQUK 3.0 is the winner as far as application goes. I can't talk about longevity of CQUK 3.0 as I just applied it. Mckee's 37 V2 has very good longevity, it's still as slick and glossy as day one, which was 8 months ago. Also, I've never had an issue with water spots with the Mckee's.
