The Wife's Mazda was filthy from our trip to Houston coupled with a week of rain here in Dallas. Lots of bug splats from the road trip.

Finally got a break in the rain and my schedule (only because it was Saturday) so I detailed the car. Kind of a bad time to detail because the rain was due to start again, it was hot and 99% humidity! And we are leaving for vacation tomorrow so the car will be parked at the airport.

Still, I wanted to get the car clean with a coat of NR to help keep it clean.

Wheels:
Amazing Roll Off
Chem Guys Soap
Assorted brushes
Finished with Chem Guys Bare Bones on wells and tires with PB Bold & Bright

Exterior Cleaning:
PB Bug Squash 3:1
Pinnacle Bug Scrub
PB SSS
Stoners IG
Door Jams – PB Spray & Wipe

Exterior Finish
PB Black Hole – UDM and a Blue LC pad
Natty's Red by hand
Final finish with Clearkote Quik Shine

Interior:
Vacuum and PN Natural Look

I used a new camera my Wife bought and the pictures did not come out well. Plus the weather was overcast with occasional glaring sun. So my pictures, especially after suck.

I am knackered after this job. It was so hot and humid I was sweating like crazy. The car was so dirty I spent 1.5 hours washing it!

I decided to try Black Hole on it. I honestly could not tell a big difference except for the feel. I did half the hood with BH and I could feel a difference in the two halves, The BH made it feel slick and smooth kind of like after clay. Also there was a light scratch and after BH it was not visible!

Let me know if I did the BH right. I used my UDM on low, 1 – 2 setting and a blue LC pad. I used little to no pressure and went slow. The buffed with a MF.

OOPS! After about 2 weeks of owning the car the SO tried to back out of garage before door was all the way up. Had to repair garage door! On the up side, the combo of BH and NR is so reflective you can see my fat belly!

Look, no bug splats and a nice finish from BH and NR. :props:

No pictures of the interior, it was dirty but cleaned up easily with the shop vac and PB NL. There was a spot on the back seat and I used a little of PB APC diluted 50/50. Some cayrons melted in a cuby hole but a plastic paint scraper + PB APC and some scrubbing cleaned it up nicely.

The after pictures do not do it justice. The combo of BH and NR looks really good. We drove to my in-laws for dinner and it started to pour rain! :bash: Oh well, the water beaded up nice!

Follow up on the Mazda ...

Since I detailed the Mazda last week it has rained darn near ever day. For several days it was parked in covered parking at the airport but when I say covered, it is not like a garage. Rain still blows in with dirt.

Despite all of this the detail has held up very well. Since vacation ends tomorrow when I fly out for work I thought I would spruce it up a bit. Also, since I couldn't attend Poorboy's detail weekend I figured I'd pay a little homage.

Washed the car with PB Super Slick with wax. I rarely use this soap and I don't know why I don't use it more often! It is great. I really noticed a difference when blow drying the car. The water seemed to roll off so much faster.

After washing and drying I finished with PB QD+. Another great product.

I was very impressed with how well the tires looked after a week since applying PB Bold and Bright. I did not scrub the tires as I normally do, just applied another coat of PB B & B.

After this was done and I was drenched in sweat I started on the Jaguar. More to come on that in another post...

I'm in Dallas too and have been waiting for it to stop raining to wash my Pilot. I washed right before the monsoon season started and the car has been filthy since. Oh well. I am going to try and wash it tomorrow because it looks like the rain will be gone for a while and will just get back to being hot as hell. I can stand hot, but hot and 90% humidity is a little bit much

I was sweating like crazy today washing the car! I started on my car but the thunder and dark clouds convinced me to put both cars in the garage and call it quits. I plan to finish my car in the morning before I lurch off to DFW.

I like the Pilots. We were going to test drive one but somehow never got to it before we bought the Mazda.

nice job and nice pics... so you're a believer in PB BH? I have one on order and can't wait to try it.

So are you a PB fanatic? I noticed all your stuff is PB... lol

I do like the Poorboy's World products. Most of my go to products are PB. But I have a lot of other favs like Wolfgang.

Enjoy that Black Hole!
