Black S2000 paint correction by rookie

not very satisfying with the result because there are still a little swirls left...

tools and products used:

Dewalt 849 rotary (old version)
3M Machine Polishing with 3M Black Polishing Pad
3M Ultrafina with 3M ultrafina Pad
WG Fuzion with my hands

Wheels:
some autozone products and Dawn (the Trix and Ironx are in back order at that time...)
no wax (that time I had not purchased any wheel wax yet...)

Interior:
some natural shine products from autozone...
zymol leather cleaner and conditioner

This was done a few weeks ago when i had not purchased any products from AG, but afterwards I had purchased ALOT....

After correction:
by the time it was done, the sun was ready to set and the owner picked up the car...

 
Wow, it looks 1000 times better!

I have no experience with 3M products. Did you notice a lot of holograms with the 3M compound and rotary?

I love polishing out black cars because you get the chance to see your true skill on a paint color that won't hide anything.

thanks for your comment, this is my first time posting before after pictures successfully. I always have a problem uploading them...


with the 3M compound... tones of holograms on my practice cars... therefore this customer cars I dare not to use compound, just polish then polish again then seal...

I started another post regarding this problem but no one has guided me through yet...

and I love doing black cars as you say, because it does change the most in appearance. even I do not have super pro skill yet, but the products and proper procedure I learned here let me do a good enough job to take amazing pictures, and thanks for my camera too, lol!!

still practicing and finding solutions...

Hey man, great job. The before pic, even though it's from far away, really shows a lot of swirls. So that makes the after shot pop! Very nice work.
 
Great job! Don't be hard on yourself. Black is tough. You have already taken the hardest

step...Getting a machine and doing it! There's so many talented ppl on this site. Keep

reading and posting and hone your skills. I'm a rookie as well and love learning here!

Like everyone said before, black is tough and you've jumped right in, good work from the looks of the pic but next time you might wanna take some more close ups so the pro's here can chime in, you learn something new everyday, I know I do here, black is almost impossible to completely master.......well, there's some here that slay that beast pretty well!
