This is a review of Blackfire Pro Detailer's Choice BlackIce Hybrid Liquid Wax. PMBG was very kind in sending out some of the new Blackfire releases for review and my thoughts. The test subject for this product is a 2008 Aston Martin Vantage Roadster in Onyx Black that was in for our Signature Detail service. The paint was prepped via standard methods including wash, decon, clay, etc. The paint was polished with Blackfire One Step using a Rupes 21 and GG6 with orange Buff and Shine pads.

This seemed to be the perfect candidate for the Hybird Liquid Wax. The Blackfire One Step cleaned the paint up nicely and brought out the flake in the black onyx paint.

Product Description:

BLACKFIRE BlackICE Hybrid Liquid Wax is a formulated mix of German-sourced Montan Wax and Wet Diamond polymers and is designed to bond to your vehicle's paint surface and provide a mile-deep gloss for the ultimate wet-shine look on all colors—including dark paints! This product is heat resistant and will keep your vehicle protected against ultraviolet light and natural contaminants like bird droppings, acid rain, and mineral deposits. We’ve turned our BlackICE Hybrid Montan Sealant Wax into a liquid application that will yield just as amazing results! BLACKFIRE BlackICE Hybrid Liquid Wax won't even stain your plastic should you accidentally get some on your trim!

Cost: $39.99 for 32 ounces

Application:

I applied Blackfire Pro Detailer's Choice BlackIce Hybrid Liquid Wax with a red pad via a PC and the product spread so smooth and evenly. I waited approximately 20 minutes for the product to set and then buffed off. The directions state to allow 15 minutes for optimal bonding.

Observations:

The removal of Blackfire Pro Detailer's Choice BlackIce Hybrid Liquid Wax was a breeze and it left the paint with much more gloss and depth. The surface was also super slick. Overall the product is very "Souvern-ish" for those that are used to the Souveran paste wax. It spreads incredibly well and is almost buttery. The product has no real scent and a little goes a very long way when using a finishing pad for application. There always seem to be questions asked as to what is a good topper for Blackfire One Step. This is the perfect candidate for someone looking to to add more gloss and depth to the paint with very little effort.

Video Walkaround:

Beautiful car and very nice detail, thank you Pat as always amazing work!

Nice work, so since the BLACKFIRE 1 step leaves protection, did you have to do IPA wipe down, before applying BLACKFIRE hybrid wax ?!? Or is this a case of synergy of the products are compatible, as the hybrid wax durability and longevity won’t be affected if you don’t apply the intermediate step of IPA wipe down in between the 1 step and the wax

No need for an IPA wipe down after working with Blackfire One Step. The new Blackfire BlackICE Hybrid Liquid Wax is perfect for topping the One Step.
