This past weekend I decided to coat all of the glass on my new 2013 Dodge Ram. During the process I used a mild glass polish to prep the windows and thought it would be a good opportunity to try Blackfires Pro Dealers Choice Paint Prep to remove any oil and polish residue before applying the coating. Thank you Meghan for sending out the new product offering for testing.

Product Description:

Blackfire Pro Detailers Choice Paint Prep

BLACKFIRE Paint Prep is a pre-coating prep spray designed to remove all polishing oils, synthetic fillers, light dust, and fingerprints from a surface before the application of a paint coating or last step product. BLACKFIRE Paint Prep is a simple spray and wipe, advanced formula that will not mar or scratch the surface during use. The key to a perfect paint coating application is the prep – and BLACKFIRE Paint Prep is just what you need!

Cost: $24.99 for 32 ounces

Thoughts and Product Use:

1) Scent- Blackfire Pro Detailers Choice Paint Prep has a mild “alcohol based” scent to it.
2) Application-I applied with a short nap micro fiber towel and it removed any remaining polish residue from the glass. The product applied easily, flashed quickly, and left no streaking.
3) Overall I was very satisfied with the use of Blackfire Pro Detailers Choice Paint Prep and would recommend it. I have been using Griots Pre Wax Cleaner for most of my coating applications on glass, trim, or paint and this performs just as well. The product does appear to be priced accordingly with other paint preps on the market by Gyeon, Car Pro, and Gtechniq.
