what are your thoughts on blades (california etc..) versus the guzzlers?
which is better, why do you prefer it and what are the downfalls of a blade vs a guzzler??

I wouldn't use a blade either. Although I would be concerned with the actual blade leaving imperfections, it's the thought of something getting trapped between the blade and car that would worry me.

I find the blade best for use in the shower ...

in case you live in one of these

Lol...that would be an interesting job with just a blade. I wonder which Smart Car belongs to the CEO hahahaha.

guzzler no question...i use two per car. the first one ends up acting like a blade initially as i push the water off, and the second cleans up the mess!

I'm not terribly fond of blades. I've had better results with guzzlers without worrying about the risk of it scratching my paint.

Interesting video. During summer washings, I swear by my California Water Blade and then follow up any remaining wet spots with a couple of waffle weave MF towels.

i assume your getting rid of your water blade after that video....

i have been a long time favorite of the absorber, i rinse it off in a rinse bucket inbetween panels....i would like to think that if the car is washed correctly, that the absorber wont do any damage...

i recently changed to the cobra guzzlers hd, and you need a minium of 2...the first one gets soo full of water after a few swipes that its rendered useless...you need to follow with a second one...

my new procedure is use the absorber followed by a guzzler hd...that way i get a streak free dry...so far soo good...

bottom line, grit trapped in a micro fibre drying cloth, shamois, absorber or anything else you use is going to scratch...

Actually i just bought a guzzler about 3 weeks ago. Haven't gotten a chance to use it yet, but what i will say is, i was using a shamois and after every clean, i was left with these terrible looking streaks. If i knew i had been doing that with the shamois, i would have never let it touch another car.

I used a blade once. Was on an old beater just to test it out.
It was working great, till something in the air landed on the hood that I didn't see. The blade grabbed it and dragged it across the hood with it, leaving a nice long scratch.

Won't use one on my baby. Guzzler's for me.

Thought to be fair you can have airborne stuff land on the car while using the guzzler too, but it seems to do better picking it up away from the paint.

ahhh electron blue, thats a beautiful color up top^

Yea really, i guess just about anything that touches the surface is in some way or another going to leave some kind of mark, some jsut arent very noticble, while others are invisible. I think if wanted to make a lot of money, id tried to think of some type of material that no matter how much you rub it over your car, the paint stays perfect and leaves no trace of rubbing behind.

AH HA!!!! Surfer you are genious! My next door neighbor from england does that because he says he cant stand his brakes gettin all rusty looking after a good wash(picture him saying that with an accent and then you feel like your on an episode of Top Gear/Fifth Gear
